Super duper crime fighting good two shoes and her badass master criminal. – (Chapter: Chapter 5)
“How is that bad? I’m awesome.”
“You’re evil.”
She put her hand over her heart and gasped, “Ouch.”
I fought back the urge to smile.
“I’m not evil; I’m just really misunderstood. Plus if I was, I would have hit your sister instead of her jacket.”
I look over at Kyla and Glen skating around the rink. I kind of feel bad for Glen. He keeps losing his balance.
Spencer stood up and grabbed my hand, “You’re going skating.”
She dragged me to put on my skates and to get on the ice. After I told her I had never done this before, she put her hand on my hips and guided me through the ice.
“See, it’s not that bad.”
“So now that you’ve asked me questions it’s my turn, what’s up with you and Sherry?”
“Oh god, I really don’t want to talk about that. I’m not planning on seeing her ever again.”
“She seemed nice.”
“Seemed is the key work there. She was just not my type.”
“Oh…”
“Any more questions?”
“Did you really kill all those people?”
“No, I never touched them. I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. How was I supposed to know that the guy in Mexico was going to slip down a mountain side? I was sight seeing.”
I’m not sure if I should believe you.’
“Just get to know me.”
She kept guiding me through the rink. I had gotten the hang of it, but I wasn’t planning on telling her to move her hand.
“I could get thrown out of the DEBS for hanging around you.”
“They don’t have to know. It’s not like the security around your house is very, well, secure.”
The music in the stadium turned into slow music. I turned to see Kyla getting cuddly with Glen, “Those two are getting along.”
“That’s my brother for you, suave.”
“Oh really? I’m guessing you lost in that side of the gene pool.”
“Hey, I can be suave!”
“Keep telling your self that,” I giggled. Did I just giggle?
“I will,” She gave me a pout.
I look down at her lip. Awww. That’s cute. My eyes widen. Not cute….umm…that’s…
“What’s wrong?”
“Huh? Oh, nothing,” I look into her eyes.
I see her eyes looking up at me and then at my lips and back up. She starts leaning in and I stop breathing. Her lips slightly brush over my own. I lean in to kiss her back but I find nothing there.
I cover my mouth with my hands, “Oh my god, are you okay?” Spencer managed to make herself one with the wall and flipped over it.
Kyla quickly skates over to me and grabs me by the arm, “She almost kissed you. You were letting her almost kiss you!”
I snatch my arm out of her grasp and make my way over to Spencer. I take off my skates and run over to her.
“Can you move?”
Spencer perches herself up using her elbows, “Yeah, you’re right. I’m not suave.”
I help her out of her skates and back on her feet, “You should go lie down.”
Glen took all of our skates back to the booth and grabbed the car keys, “I’ll drive everyone home.”
On the drive back, Kyla sat in the passenger side seat, and Spencer and I sat in the back seat. I was letting her rest her head on my shoulder, but Kyla kept giving me dirty looks about it.
Once we got back home, Kyla kept playing 20 questions with me.
“I didn’t know you liked girls.”
“I don’t know Kyla. Now, get out of my bedroom. I need to sleep.”
Kyla rolled her eyes, “Fine.”
I went to bed that night wondering what Spencer Carlin, my nemesis, was doing.
