Super duper crime fighting good two shoes and her badass master criminal. – (Chapter: Chapter 5)
I stare out the window. I wish I could see Kyla through the side view mirrors but no luck. I would usually try to jump out of the car, but I don’t think Kyla would get the hint and jump out.
I glare at my kidnapper. She makes eye contact and gives me a look like she doesn’t know what she did wrong.
“Where are you taking us?” I cross my arms.
“Somewhere,” she makes a right turn.
Glen scoots closer to my sister, “Skittles?”
Kyla perks up, “oooo….”
I turn around and slap the bag out of his hand, “Kyla, you’re kidnapped not on a date.”
“Yeah, but it doesn’t have to be all gloom and doom.”
“How can it not be?!”
“Hey Ash, chill,” Spencer puts her hand on my shoulder.
I slide my shoulder away from her reach. Strangely enough, I don’t mind her touching me, but I am trying to make a point, “I’m not going to ‘chill’.” I make little quotations in the air.
After parking the car next to a tree, Spencer opens her car door and step out of the car. She walks to the passenger side and opens my door, “Come on let’s go inside.”
I reluctantly get out of the car and follow her inside. Kyla and Glen are close behind us talking about the movie Juno. My sister is the only girl having a blast in a time of peril.
We walk inside the building and my jaw drops. An ice rink? She took us to an ice rink. What kind of evil doer is she?
Kyla lit up like a Christmas tree on speed. Glen walked her over to a booth so she could get some skates.
“Wanna get your skates and go out there?” Spencer sat down at a table.
“Not particularly,” I sat down across from her. “Why did you plan on taking me here?”
“You looked…um… tense, so I thought I could do you a favor.”
“Well, this didn’t really help.”
Spencer sighed, “So, how was your day?”
“What kind of a question is that?”
“A question type question which is usually followed by an answer.”
“Rough day,” I leaned back in my chair.
“Why?” She leaned forward.
“I broke up with my boyfriend, and then I met you.”
