Sting of the Whip – (Chapter: Let Freedom Ring)

The next couple of days went by smoothly. The slayers were nowhere to be seen. Ashley thought that this was a little to suspicious. Buffy wasn’t the one to give up a fight. Her thoughts wandered away from the slayers more often now that it was confirmed that she found a mate in Spencer. Everything was going fine between the two of them. Gaby and Shadow would make fun of them often. Especially when Spencer called Ashley the silliest names, like Booger bear, and Dancy taily. ashley would get irritated at these weird names that were supposed to show signs of affection..well that’s what Spencer kept telling her. On one particular day, Ashley felt a spirit. It coursed through her body like blood. Spencer kept her distance and followed her through hallways and doors. They came to a place where Spencer couldn’t follow her, a sheer cliff with a jungle on the other side of the giant gap. The trees were taller than the clouds. Ashley jumped over the large gap and landed with ease on the other side. Spencer sat down and waited patiently for her to come back.

Ashley knew that she had to climb this ladder and get whatever it was at the top if she wanted to stop the enslavement. She was aware of the eyes that watched her as she progressed deeper into the jungle. Her sisters took her here only once. After that she was to heavy to be carried over the gap. Nicole was the one who warned her to never climb the ladder, because the information at the top was so ancient and contriversial that no vampire was ever allowed to see it until they absolutely needed it. Ashley stopped at the tallest tree in the entire jungle and searched around it. She found the steps.

Spencer waited a long time for Ashley to come back. The moon was already out by the time she returned, with a sly smile on her face.

    Spencer: "You okay baby?"

Ashley: "Spencer. We have somethings to talk about.

With that, she turned on her heels and walked back into the castle. Her tail reached out for Spencer, who quickly grabbed it. The blonde had no idea what Ashley was going to do tomorrow. Whatever it was, it involved someone getting hurt…or worse.
