    Author Notes:

    Ashley is in high school and is falling for an older Spencer.

    “What?” I exclaimed and he clamped a hand over my mouth, pushing me into my bedroom and closing the door. He shushed me with a finger over his mouth. “Why do I have to be quiet in my own house?” I said confused.

    “You’ll wake Christine,” he said softly as I sat down on the bed. He joined me putting a hand on my thigh lovingly. “So what’s up with you and Spencer babe? I thought she was a good girl. Now she’s calling my phone all hours of the night like some maniac. What’d you do to her?”

    I gaped at this. “What did I do to her? C’mon Dad! You’re blaming me already?” He clamped his hand over my mouth again.

    “Well, you’re a Davies. We make mistakes.” He glanced down at his watch, and I really looked at him for the first time. He was fully dressed in a lather jacket, black jeans and boots, and a red wife beater, his white chest hair peaking out.

    “Going somewhere?”

    “I’ve got a gig tonight,” he whispered, and I smiled widely.

    “That’s great.” I whispered excitedly.

    “Don’t tell your Mom,” he added and I nodded. Now I understood why we had to be quiet. Mom had forced my father to quit his band three years earlier to be there for me, but it had changed him. He wasn’t happy. He loved his music probably more than me, and though it had hurt me as kid, I was over it. This was who he was. “Now what’s happening with you and Spencer?”

    “Nothing,” I said quietly, and he waited for me to go on. “Last night we spoke for the first time in three years, Dad. Three years. And she was everything I imagined her to be, her voice, her touch…her kiss. But then I called her and some guy answered the phone. They sounded so…”

    “So what?” he asked with warm gray eyes.

    “Comfortable. They sounded all happy and domesticated.” He patted my shoulder. “I just…I love her so much and I’ve waited so long. Anyway I couldn’t talk to her, so I hung up and went to sleep.”

    He pulled me into a hug and I let my tears fall onto his shoulder.

But I HATE the fact that spencer’s with someone. well, I now have to hate aiden, even though it’s not his fault this time, i just have to hate him for being in between spashley, well not hate, just strongly dislike…for now that is.
