Sliding Doors – (Chapter: Chapter 4 How to Find her)

    Aiden: “But then?”

    Ashley: “It’s stupid.”

    Aiden: “No, tell me.”

    Ashley: “I had this dream…”

Aiden: “Did your father appear to you and tell you to get your shit together!?”

    Ashley: “Not exactly.”

    Aiden: “Then what?”

    Ashley: “It’s nothing!”

Aiden: “Come on, you can trust me!”

And I knew I could, after all these years I knew that Aiden would understand.

Ashley: “Okay, but it’s really weird.”

    Aiden: “Ash!”

Ashley: “For the last couple of years I keep having these reoccurring dreams about this…girl. I don’t know who she is or anything about her, but they’re all so real. Anyway, in this one particular dream she told me that she would find me. And that she would love me.”

    Aiden: “And?”

    Ashley: “And what?”

Aiden: “That’s it? That’s what made you turn your life around?”

Ashley: “You don’t understand Aiden, this chick has been basically haunting me for years! All of a sudden she tells me that she’ll find me? I don’t know, I just wanted to be ready, and I guess worthy.”

Aiden: “So maybe she’s like your soul mate or something!”

Ashley: “I don’t know if I buy into that shit.”

Aiden: “Ash! You keep dreaming about an unknown girl for the past few years! Then she makes you turn your life around! I don’t know, it kind of sounds like she is.”

Ashley: “Yea, well whatever. Like I said, it’s stupid.”

Aiden: “I think it’s awesome! So how are you gonna find her?!”

Ashley: “Um, I can’t exactly put an ad out in the paper, Aid. ‘Seeking girl in my dreams. Must have hot raspy voice and piercing blue eyes.’ It’s not exactly like the girl knows I’m dreaming of her…if she even exists! She could just be something my subconscious uses to fuck with me.”

Aiden: “No, I think she’s real! And we’re gonna find her!”

Ashley: “Oh we are, are we?”

    Aiden: “Yeah!”

Ashley: “Well how are we going to find her if you’re off at USC?”

    Aiden: “Come with me?!”

    Ashley: “Yea, right.”

Aiden: “Come on, Ash, think about it! We haven’t spoken in years! Then, you come to a party that you’re not even invited to and we run into each other. Then we finally talk, you tell me about this girl and I want to help you find her. It’s like fate!”
