Singing Bridges (We All Fall) – (Chapter: I wont be any more or any less)

“You’re so unpredictable and I’m so typical
I tried to sell you a heart before you saw the world
I will sing a melody until the fluid starts choking me
And when my eyes are paralyzed I’ll stare up at you my star
    That I could never reach

I’ll wait for you if you want me to
I promise you I wont change a thing
I wont be any more or any less

You’re so unpredictable and I’m so typical
I keep tearing away at the skin
    To see what’s underneath
I will sing a melody until the fluid starts choking me

    That I could never reach

I’ll wait for you if you want me to

I wont be anymore or any less
Your secrets safe I’ll take it to my…grave.

    Ohhhhh

I’ll wait for you if you want me to

“Well, you know our story isn’t exactly a happy one, right?” Natalie looked away from the lyrics to study Spencer’s face, “Yeah, but this is your chance to change things… Look, just try writing something happier and we’ll see which one looks better and would be better for you to sing… what’s the harm in that?” Natalie got up and left Spencer with her thoughts. Something happier?? How can I write something happier if our lives haven’t been happier to begin with? Spencer sat at her desk pondering what to do. Looking around the room she saw a binder on the nightstand. Recognizing it instantly as Ashley’s from in high school, she grabbed it immediately and started searching for her favorite song Ashley wrote a long time ago. Finding it, she scanned over it over and over again to see if it would work. Liking the beat that Ashley had designed to go with the song, Spencer began changing the words around to make her own song from Ashley’s.

After two hours of leaving Spencer alone, Natalie walked back into Spencer’s room to find Spencer writing away on papers. Natalie walked up behind Spencer and started reading over her shoulder. Next to Spencer’s paper was another paper, the title “Shadows and Regrets” scribbled in the center. Instantly recognizing Ashley’s writing, Natalie picked up the song and started reading it. Spencer suddenly popped up and snatched the paper from Natalie, “Holy shit you just scared me! What are you doing?” Natalie just looked at Spencer, confused by her outburst. “I was reading… what was that? When did Ash write that? Can I read it?” Spencer shook her head, “She wrote that back in high school with her band. I was thinking I’ll take the beat of her song and transform her words to make a new song, for us. You know? That way it’ll be a part of her and a part of me… what do you think?” Natalie nodded her head, her eyes telling Spencer that it was a great idea…
