Singing Bridges (We All Fall) – (Chapter: I wont be any more or any less)

Everything was all set up. It was the day of the reunion. All day Ashley stayed in her room and Spencer stayed in hers. Except while Ashley was alone with her thoughts, Spencer and Natalie were planning to change tonight’s events. Everything that had ever mattered to Spencer was coming out tonight and she needed for it to be perfect.

“Okay so how about that? What do you think?” Natalie threw another idea out at Spencer who was sprawled out on the bed. “Uhhh I don’t know… do you think she’d like it?” Natalie thought for a second, “Are you seriously asking me if Ashley would like it if you got up on stage and sang the song that she wrote specifically for you in front of everyone from high school?” Spencer nodded her head not catching onto Natalie’s sarcasm. “Of course she’d love it Spence! She’d go crazy for it! Especially since she has never sang that song to anyone since the day in the park. She’ll go nuts and I can just see her running up onto the stage and taking you back right then and there. It’ll be perfect I swear.”

Spencer still looked unconvinced. “And if she’s not going nuts, or insane, or crazy, or whatever. What if she doesn’t like it? What if she doesn’t want me to sing something that has meant the world to the both of us? What if she feels like the only way I’ll be able to win her back is if she doesn’t have a chance in the matter. I mean, I know Ash won’t say no in front of a large crowd, she’s never been able to say no to the people that mean the most to her in front of others. What if she actually hates it? What if-” Natalie clamped her hand shut over Spencer’s mouth. “Seriously, shut up. She’s going to love it. I promise you she’s going to love it.” Natalie turned away from Spencer and looked at the lyrics again. “Do you think you could write something a bit more happier?” Spencer looked down at the lyrics skimming over them again.
