    Chapter Three:  Should Have Given You A Reason To Stay
     

    Her hand is in mind as she tugs me down the hall of our familiar office building, glancing back at me with that mischievous grin of hers just before yanking me into the storage closet behind her. I hardly am inside before she has my back pressed against the cheap wood and her mouth is over mine. I am certainly not objecting as my hands find the gap between her shirt and her work skirt and slip beneath, moving up her back. This is a common occurrence for us, almost a ritual. The office where we work strictly bans dating within the office, but no rules could hold back what we have.

    “Ashley.” I moan out quietly as her lips leave mine and move down my neck. The sensation is delicious, and I have yet to meet anyone who feels like she does. She only smiles into my skin, her body pressing tight enough against me to force a little gasp to escape my lungs. Her eyes lift and she pauses a moment, just locking gazes with me and looking so deeply I am concerned she can see the back of my skull.

    “I. Love. You.” She states, annunciating every word with so much decisiveness it makes my smile widen into a grin. God this girl is so incredible. Leaning forward I kiss just below her lips, my eyes shutting.

    “Good.” I respond with a teasing flash of a smile as my hand reached backwards and twists the doorknob. We should be getting back to work, and I think she knows it as well as I do. We have been on our best behavior lately, because both of us are up for promotion. Of course only one of us can get the promotion, but we already agreed that whoever gets it, the other is not allowed to be jealous. To be honest, Ashley needs the promotion more than I do, she has been in a really tight spot with money lately. I offered to help her out, but she refused. I guess that is one of the many reasons why I love her, she is so damned head strong.

    “…And?” She prompts me, arm reaching out and holding the door shut.
