His thoughts remained centered on the two girls and how they were so lucky. He was so focused that he almost missed his phone ringing. In an instant it was up to his ear.
" ‘Lo?" he said.
"Hey Aiden." Spencer said cheerfully.
"Hey Spence, I was just thinking of you. What’s up?"
"Well I was just wondering if you had heard from Ashley." She said in a measured tone.
Aiden snapped a little.
"Why don’t you just call her?"
"God Aiden, what crawled up your ass and died?"
"Nothing, nothing. Sorry, I’m just not in that great of a mood."
"Sorry to hear it, but I just wanted to know if you’d heard anything from Ashley. I’m a little scared to call her after what happened this weekend."
Aiden frowned.
"What happened this weekend?" Aiden was oblivious to the sex-fest they had had.
"Oh, well, Ash and I hung out all weekend and things got a little intense. I wanted to give her some alone time to think things over and I don’t know if she’s ready to talk about what happened yet."
Aiden grinned, happy to know that things weren’t always perfect, although he still wanted to help. That was just the kind of friend he was.
"Do you want me to call her for you?" he asked kindly.
"Would you mind? I don’t want to put you in the middle of all of this."
"No, no. It’s ok, I don’t mind. Just let me go and I’ll give her a ring. Call you in ten."
Spencer squealed. "Aiden you’re the best! Love you. Bye."
"Bye."
Aiden closed his phone then reopened it. He hit his speed dial and after three rings Ashley picked up.
"What the fuck do you want?" she asked groggily.
"That’s a great way to greet your best friend. And what happened to the smiley, happy, over the rainbow Ashley?" He said sarcastically.
"Yeah, yeah. She died. She’s been replaced with the hungover Ashley…and my eyeballs are sticking to the back of my forehead. Make it fast." She demanded.
"Oh, ok. In that case…"
"Look, I’m sorry. Things are just weird right now."
"What with Spencer?"
"Yeah." She responded unenthusiastically.
"What’s up?"
Ashley paused and sucked on her bottom lip. She inhaled and trudged forward with an explanation.
"Spencer and I had sex. And when I say sex I mean the hottest stuff you will never be able to imagine. I got all clingy on her and when I realized it I went into thoughtful Ashley mode. That lasted a whole five minutes before I turned into "drink the problems away" Ashely. But before that happened I made myself promise not to call Spencer to prove that I wasn’t clingy. I’m five seconds away from breaking that promise. I miss her so much. I’ve never felt this way. What should I do? Should I keep on ignoring her and wait for her to make the first move or should I call her right now and beg for her to come over so we can have more sex?"
Aiden whistled.
"Uhm, I’d say do neither. Just like…I don’t know. Call her in an hour. She’ll be home then and all relaxed and ready to talk. Ok? Sounds good? Ashley likey the plan?"
"Shut up!" she moaned. "You’re so gaytarded."
"Nice insult." He said before hanging up.
Within seconds he was back on the phone with Spencer.
"Ok, what did she say? Aiden! What did she say?"
"Hold your horses Spencer."
"Sorry, but go ahead, tell me."
"Do you want a summary or word for word detail?"
"Summary please."
"Ok, so basically she went on and on about how you two had hot monkey sex and how afterwards she realized she got clingy. She has a hangover now and she desperately wants to call you but she’s afraid of looking even more clingy."
"Oh My GOD, Aiden. You are the best guy friend ever."
"Yeah, I know. She’ll be calling you in an hour. Maybe sooner."
"Alright, thanks Aiden. I owe you one. Kisses."
Aiden laughed and hung up. Making things ok between the pair was satisfying but still something seemed to be missing. There was a big gaping hole in the center of his chest.

Ok i cant even express in words how much i love this fic. It makes me tingle with happiness! I’m glad that even though ashley decided to forget things and travel to the bottom of the bottle for awhile, she really wants to be with spencer despite her own insecurites. Spashley sex is golden in this story and i demand more of it!! haha pretty please? I’ll feed you with more updates of SJ.

ahhh, I love it. Ash needs to get over herself though – and whats wrong with admitting you really like someone and being a bit clingy at first – shows she’s v. interested? Spence obviously feels the same! Aiden reminds me of me – it’s so great when there’s someone you’re mental about, they’re perfect for you, you get on so damn great… but actually they’re gay so you can never be with them! It’s FANTASTIC, really!! grrrr! ah well, best to swiftly move on, methinks! post more soon :-) and thanks for the shout out to yours truly Jx
