    Aiden is a mediator between phone calls. He’s the best and we find out what’s making him tick.

    "Everything’s fine Ms. Porter. I just got caught up in something this weekend." Spencer blushed red and stared at her shoes.

    While Spencer was looking away she missed the crazy grin on her boss’s face. She was used to this kind of thing happening.

    "What exactly did you get caught up in?" she questioned.

    "Oh, uhm…I was just helping…. a friend out." Spencer answered hastily.

    Ms. Porter acted like she accepted the excuse grudgingly but on the inside she was laughing. Her employees were funny and their lives were so entertaining.

    "Alright Spencer. That’s fine, just don’t let it happen again. Anymore late articles and I’m going to start making you come into the office where I can monitor your work."

    "Thanks Ms. Porter." Spencer said as she stood up.

    "One last thing Spencer," she said as Spencer grabbed the door handle. "Call me Becka."

    Spencer grinned goofily at her.

    "Will do Ms…I mean Becka."

    The blonde left the office slightly bewildered. That was weird. Spencer took out her cell pone and called the first person in her contact’s list.

    Aiden took a sip of his coffee and cursed. The girl behind the counter giggled and Aiden winked at her. He juggled his change, his wallet, and the coffee in his hands as he walked out the door. The dark haired boy finally situated himself and took a long gulp of the burning liquid. It felt good compared to the coldness that had recently been occupying his chest. Within seconds the drink was gone. He crushed up the empty cup and threw it into a trashcan 10 feet away. It made it in. Aiden thought back to high school when he had played basketball and when Ashley hadn’t been gay. That was when he was happiest. Life had been going his way. He had a full ride to UCLA and a beautiful girlfriend by his side. But things fell apart. He had found Ashley making out with some girl one night. She tried to explain that it wasn’t him and it wasn’t something he couldn’t change but no matter what she said he still felt torn inside. The love of his life could never be his, no matter what he did. She still loved him but not in that way. It tore his heart and soul in half. His broken heart led to depression which lead to drugs and alcohol. After waking up one day and realizing he didn’t know where he was left him with one option. He checked himself into rehab and got better. He got his grades up and by the end of his senior year he had a partial scholarship to NYU since that full athletic ride had fallen through. That was when he meat Spencer. He thought that she could be someone to replace Ashley but as time went on he could only come to think of her as a friend. When she had revealed herself to be gay Aiden had just laughed out loud. If anything that made their friendship stronger. But things became strained on Aiden when Ashley came back into the picture. Ever since that fateful night at the bar when he had brought Spencer with him his mood just kept getting darker and darker. But the thing was that he didn’t love Ashley anymore. It wasn’t that he was jealous of Spencer, it was that he was jealous of what she was able to have so easily.

Spence obviously feels the same! Aiden reminds me of me – it’s so great when there’s someone you’re mental about, they’re perfect for you, you get on so damn great… but actually they’re gay so you can never be with them!
