Reflections In The Rearview – (Chapter: Chapter 2)

“Well geez next time let me know before you yell at the top of your lungs for me to turn right.” The brunette grumbled, “Well if it wasn’t life or death can you please tell me why you’ve taken us off our course? I mean you were just whining about being late again.”

    “I wasn’t whining.”

Ashley looked at her, her eyebrows raising in disbelief. “Spencer you made Jan Brady look like a mute.”

Spencer blushed, “Ok maybe I was whining a little”

Ashley let it go, she couldn’t focus on much when Spencer started blushing. “So tell me where are we headed, do you know some secret back roads to campus that you somehow miraculously discovered even though you don’t drive?”

Spencer rolled her eyes, “No but I did notice that the Disney on Ice is in town. Let’s go” she smiled sweetly.

Ashley stopped the car, slamming on the brakes. “Disney on Ice … you think I would rather sit through a 2 hour ice production extravaganza watching femme boys get it on with giant hippos and seahorses instead of daydreaming my afternoon away in Algebra?”

Spencer beamed knowingly, “Yes”. Ashley could try and fool her but Spencer had seen her drawer full of Lion King memorabilia. She knew the older girl would never admit to liking Disney but she still heard her some mornings whistling the tune to “I just can’t wait to be king” in her shower.

Ashley frowned, “You really want to go don’t you?”

“Yes. Plus think of this as something to add to my blank permanent record. I’m sure ditching class for the day is at least pretty high up on the ‘wrong things you can do’ list.”

Ashley smiled, her nose crinkling, “well if it’s for a good cause, and trust me corrupting you is definitely a good cause, then I’m in. But don’t expect me to be awake through it”

The couple made their way to the arena and pulled into the parkinglot.

“You’d think this thing would be more crowded” Spencer stated as she stared at a fairly empty lot.

The two girls began to walk towards the building. Ashley clicked her car locked, “maybe everyone realized that they were paying obscene amounts of money to watch boys cutoff their circulation in neon tights?”
