Spencer smiled at the exchange between Ashley and the girl. Ashley was clearly trying to calm the girl down.
“Umm…whose name is on the reservation Spence?” Ashley asked looking at Spencer.
“It should be under Jessica Kane…that’s Kane with a “K”. Table for three.”
The girl looked down on her list and nodded her head. “Ms. Kane is actually already seated. Let me show you to your table.”
As they made their way to the back of the restaurant the young girl kept looking back at Ashley still amazed that she was there. Ashley could see the back of Jessica’s head and the red hair that seemed to look like fire under the lights.
Jessica stood when she saw Spencer and Ashley at the table. She extended her hand to Ashley and the brunette reluctantly shook it giving her a weak smile. Spencer smiled at Jessica and blushed slightly when Ashley pulled out her chair for her.
Ashley looked down at the menu and realized that her appetite was gone. She didn’t know if she could hold down any food that evening when she had to look at Jessica. The waiter approached and took their drink orders.
“So…Spencer…what have you been up to since I left for London?” Jessica said trying to break the ice.
“Well…pretty much the same…teaching my Con Law classes and working with a graduate student on her thesis.” Spencer said softly.
Ashley looked at Spencer and squinted her eyes when the blonde didn’t say anything yet again. The waiter showed up with their drinks and Ashley took a big gulp of her wine.
“And outside of school? How is everything going with your family?”
“Oh fine…Chelsea just had a show not too long ago…”
“Wow that’s great. She is such a talented artist. How did the show go?”
“It was perfect. My whole family was there and every piece was so unique and amazing.”
“I’m glad Chelsea got back into the groove again. She certainly can hold her own against any of the artists out there.” Jessica said smiling.
Spencer nodded and took a sip of her wine. Ashley sat quietly as the two talked back and forth. She began to drink more and more of her wine and had two refills before they finally placed their orders.

wow..is it sad that I don’t feel bad for Spencer? but then me not feeling bad for Spencer makes me actually feel bad for Spencer. Was she in the wrong? HELL YES! but is she only human? yes! So I dunno..I mean she just better make this up to me too…because yeah..she needs too!! *sticks tounge out at SPENCER*!!!!
I’m all upset now. Thanks a lot for that. Spencer messed up big time. She’s going to have to do some groveling to get Ashley back. She better not have any more feelings for Jessica.
