“So you won’t be home for dinner?”

“Well, that’s the thing, I kinda wanted you to come with me. Ya know, be my date?”

“Why Miss Davies, I would love too.”

My ditzy-school-girl smile came back, “Awesome.”

Now I just had to come up with a plan for Spencer to see the dress that I had bought for her. My mind quickly went over different situations. Then I realized what I would do. Spencer always said that she loved romantic gestures, so here was my shot. Plus strawberries and sugar could possibly play a part later on! I quickly shook myself out of my thoughts.

Spencer quickly dished up the brownies and ice cream. Just as her cooking always was, they were delicious, “Spencer, I don’t know how you learned to cook but I’m loving it!”

“Funny story actually, my dad taught me some stuff. But the rest of it I learned from my roommate in college. She wanted to go to a culinary school later on and she gave me some great recipes and tips.”

“Well thank god for the rommie!” I took another bite of brownie.

The next day at work I had to ask Mark for a favor. I found him in the recording booth, “Hey Mark.”

“Hey Ash, what’s up?”

“Umm…well I was wondering if you could possibly do me a favor.”

“Alright, shoot.”

“Well I bought this dress for Spencer and she’s always talked about romantic gestures and stuff so I was wondering if tonight you could set everything up while she and I were out at dinner.”

“What do I have to do?”

“Just light some candles, make sure the place doesn’t burn down, and lay the dress out on the couch. Can ya handle it?”

“Shouldn’t be too hard. Got a key?”

I pulled my keys out of my purse and found the spare that Adrienne had, “Here ya go. Don’t let me down big guy!”

He laughed, “Have I ever?”

“Good point.” I left the recording booth and went to call Spencer.

I picked up my cell phone and dialed her number. After around five rings she picked up, “Hey, babe.”
