Ashley’s POV

I don’t know how long I sat in the corner but I didn’t move. I just sat there trying not to cry. I felt empty and alone. I counted the pads on the walls the stitches in the mattress. Nothing matters any more. I need Spence. She needs me. I rocked back and forth thinking of Spencer, her smile, her eyes, her voice. Maybe this was all a halucination. Maybe they’re doing experements on the human psyche. Maybe Spencer isn’t real. NO! You know she’s real! How could she not be? You felt her lips on yours. You connected!

"Ha! Like that matters now! She can’t save me! No one can!" I say laughing at my stupidity.

"The doctor will see you now." Smiley’s voice came pulling me from my insanity.

I heard a suctiony sound and a door opened in the wall farthest from me. A white coat stepped in and came over to me. I glared at him. I willed him to fly out the door and smash into something. Nothing happened. I tried to spark fire to his coat. Nothing again. He grabbed me by my arm and started dragging me to the door.

"Get your mitts off me! You have no right to take me anywhere!" I screamed trying to kick him. He pulled me along like a wagon down white halls with no doors. A right and two lefts then down a long ramp and two more rights. We stopped in a random part of the hallway and a keypad came down from the ceiling. He pressed it with his thumb and part of the wall slid open. He shoved me through it and I fell on my face. I get to my knees and look around. I see a bald stern looking woman in a bucket chair and a chair for me. Everything else is white. I struggle to my feet and sit in the chair. The woman looks at me expressionless so I do the same.

"Why don’t you tell me how you ended up here?" she asks

"Why don’t you tell me who the hell you are and what they did with Spencer?" I say in the same tone of voice.

"If you don’t cooperate you’ll never get out of here." she says ignoring my questions.
