Not Today, Maybe Tomorrow – (Chapter: Chapter 1)

"I think I can muster up the energy for that" I stated as I rolled on top of her keeping my weight up with my arms. I saw her smiling beneath me, and realized these were the moments that people should stop and appreciate. These ones right here.

Her hand came up to my face drawing me closer to her. Our lips met and it was a slow and tentative kiss, each of us taking our time knowing full well where this was leading. We didn’t have to rush, we both weren’t going anywhere. I loved Sam there was no doubt about it/ She was one of the very first people I met while I was in college, and yes I did attend. It took me forever to go beyond the stage of friendship with her, but she patiently waited and I couldn’t be more thankful for that.

Sam was one of those girls that can fade into the background and if you’re not careful you’ll miss her. I’m glad I didn’t miss her, because honestly she was never in the background for me. I noticed her. She may be the biggest geek I know but I mean that with the most admiration. She had a smile that could even make the Grinch happy , and she is without a doubt one of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen, and she doesn’t even know it.

We’ve grown into each other, we know everything there is to know about one another. The good and the bad, there are no skeletons hiding in our closets that would surprise us. I never wanted to lie to Sam, she means to much to me to hurt her that way. I told her everything. From me having my heart broken from my best friend, to me and said best friend becoming friends. She handled all of it surprisingly well, there’s not many girls confident enough to be okay with having there girlfriend still be friends with their ex. I wasn’t ashamed of my past, yeah it hurt like hell and made me have some serious trust issues, but I don’t regret a second of it. I would do it all again in a heartbeat. The people and memories from my past, good and bad, were something I was not going to give up.

Things were good between me and Sam and I was finally at a place in my life where I was happy. I had a great job, an amazing girlfriend, a family that I loved (mother included) and friends that I adore. I couldn’t ask for more right? Sure there were times when I thought about what could have been, but who here can admit that they haven’t? That argument is especially true true for all the people that have ever had a Spencer Carlin in their lives. That girl changes people, and I Ashley Davies am just another example.
