Not Today, Maybe Tomorrow – (Chapter: Chapter 1)

Lying flat on my stomach I couldn’t believe how tired I was. The day seemed to drag on forever. I spent the better part of my afternoon trying to explain the concept of pitch to a girl who had no right to be in the industry. A little mean I know, but this girl really didn’t have hope. I was just thankful when my hours were up and I got to come home and collapse onto my bed.

I barely heard the front door open. Too tired to move I stayed where I was, knowing it could only be two people. One of which was out of town making arrangements for her wedding. A small smile made its way to my face as I waited for her presence on the bed next to me. She took off her shoes before she got into bed, something I myself had failed to do. Her body curled into mine, and I enjoyed its warmth.

"Rough day?" she asked and I could hear the smile in her voice.

"Yeah, that feels nice" was my response as she ran her hand lightly up and down my back. I turned my head towards her and gave her a smile showing her I was happy to see her.

"Mind if I join in on your nap?" she questioned as she placed a feathery kiss to my nose. I couldn’t tell you how relaxing it was being with Samantha, or Sam rather. She just put me at ease. It felt right, and it was something I had been missing for a long time before her.

I simply turned over onto my back and allowed her to move in closer. She laid her head on my shoulder, I could feel her breathe tickling my neck. I placed a kiss to the top of her head before I spoke.

"It’s a Friday night, we’re in our twenties, smoking hot, and we’re at home taking a nap. Some would call us sad you know?" I joked as I ran my fingers through her hair. Today she wore it in loose waves, I liked it.

"Well first off I like napping with you. And second how do you know I didn’t come in here with every intention of rocking your world huh?" she answered with a chuckle as she looped her arms around my waist.
