“What do you mean, what am I going to do? I’m with Spencer, that’s all there is to it.”
“But I mean, Ash, obviously you’re thinking about it because it’s the first thing you said to me when you got in here.”
“Oh, sorry…how was your day?”
David rolled his eyes and let out a dramatic sigh, “Girl, I’m not stupid. If there’s anything I know, it’s matters of the heart.”
“Is that what they’re calling it these days?” Ashley asked with a smile.
“Oh, you better believe I know that too, but that’s not the only thing I’m skilled at. Now this Erin chick has got you all rattled, and whatever you want to say, you know you’re lying because she’s shaken you, right?”
“Fine. I’m a little shaken up. I mean, there was a time when I really wanted to hear Erin say all the things she said to me tonight. Hearing her say it did bring me back to a year ago, but that’s all it was…nostalgia.”
“Nostalgia, huh?”
“Yes, that’s it,” Ashley said, but she was clearly worried. She thought back to the coffee shop. Sitting across from Erin had felt so comfortable and hearing her confess her feelings had made Ashley’s heart skip a beat or two, though she hated to admit it. Was she about to screw up with Spencer again?
“I have to go, David,” she said, grabbing her purse and keys.
“Where are you going, it’s like, 12 o’clock or something!”
“I have to go see Spencer.”
Ashley sped all the way to Spencer’s, calling her not a second before she reached the house.
“You’re outside now?” Spencer asked into her cell phone as she listened to Ashley’s worried voice.
“Yeah, like now.”
“Um…ok. May I ask why?”
“May I ask you to open the door?” Ashley asked.
Spencer was quiet a second before replying, “Ok, I’ll be down in a minute.”
Much less than a minute later, the door of the Carlin house opened allowing Ashley entrance inside. She waited until Spencer had led her up to her room and closed the door before she spoke.
“Spencer, we have to talk.”
“Uh…about what?” Spencer replied nervously.
“About us, me and you.”
“What’s going on? What’s wrong?”

Aaaaaah, Im sad to say this, because I have really enjoyed this fic, but this last chapter disappointed me *shakes head* I was happy for the longevity though. I don’t believe that Ashley would have reacted like she did, in response to Spencer admitting she liked Lindsay. But it was a good first fic. *sighs*
Honestly, I feel like Ashley had seen where being all insane about the Lindsay situation had gotten her before…wasn’t good…wasn’t productive…why do it again? Especially in that moment? She had just confessed she was considering her feelings for Erin, who is she to judge at this point? But I understand disappointment with the chapter. I knew some people would leave unhappy…but it’s the way it is. Sorry, man :(
I like your story but I’m a hardcore Ashley and Spencer fan. they can fight, break up, be with other people but please put them back together in the end. will have to endure Season 2 break up all to soon. don’t do it to us now. (not that I’ve heard anything about season 2. It’s just how the tv shows do it. keep you intrested.
i want to see a pix of Linds and Erin.. i love it but Im glad Ash and SPence are still best friends.
well done, i love the way you’ve not done the typical splashly ending, but left it open for possibilities in the minds of the readers. good thing too, or u mite be gettin some hate mails lol so, i know u just finished en all but….whens ur next fic gonna be ready? lol
let me just say you did a great job with this story! you kept people guessing right to the end and you did what practically noone else has done (or had the guts to)….a non Spashley ending! i think a tad more intensity between the two, when finding out about each others future girlfriends would have gone a long way…but you know i get carried away with drama! i hope you continue to write cuz i know you’ve got a couple more chapters in you that require trips to the hospital for us readers!!
Hmmm.. happy endings, just no Spashley ending. I’m glad they tried and I’m glad they ended up with other people. I loved this fic. Thanks so much… oh, and I can’t BELIEVE that you outed Aiden before I had a change to… *sigh* Top story!

Why must all the wonderful stories come to an end. This chapter may have been bittersweet, but I’ve really enjoyed reading your fic and I’m just sad to see that it’s over.

I for one appreciate the non Spashley ending. lol. i’m not big on the one and only soulmate thing esp not when the two involved are sixteen. But seriously, just to spite the the fanfic seemingly one track mind that leads only to Spashley, if you hadn’t written this I would have written one where they don’t end up together. I think your final chapter is great. Really good dialogue. Don’t let the Spashley fundamentalists get you down. =)

SHIT!!! you got me! lol what a twist! i was totally not expecting that…jesus….first i was like damn they’re breaking it off…then i was like YES! another try…then i read the next paragraph…im happy for them, that they furthered their relationship as friends…the ending was…well…justified, and daring. I loved it…at least you had the guts to do what no one else has been able to….but i have to say…i think ash and spence belong with each other, but thats just my immature teenage mind speaking aloud….w/e this was a really good fan fic…definately one of the best finallies ive read…(its up there with casseygirls “memories”) lol…although im going to miss your post…im glad its over, so you cant send me into cardiac arrest lol, so until your next post…good job and ill be looking out for your stuff
