“It’s not an easy situation.”
“No, it’s not. But I think that I’ve been trying to take the easy way out this whole time. Instead of being honest with myself and everyone else I’ve just made a mess out of everything.”
“There’s still time, Spencer. You know what you want to do.”
“Yeah…I do. But tell me, do you think she’s going to ever want to talk to me again?”
“I think that you two started as friends-best friends-and you’re lucky. She knows you and she knows that you’d never intentionally set out to hurt her. If she’s still that same best friend, she’ll be able to let you go.”
Spencer nodded slightly, hoping more than ever that Lindsay was right.

Ashley sat across from Erin at a trendy coffee shop, waiting to hear why the girl had begged her to meet her. She hadn’t told Spencer about the meeting and she was feeling increasingly guilty, and completely unsure of why she had gone through with it in the first place.
“Ok, Ashley, before you say anything, I just want to let you know that I’m sorry for everything that’s happened.”
“You mean like that time that you tried to convince everyone that I had basically done everything but rape you? That time?”
“Um…yes.”
“Oh, ok. I remember,” Ashley said with an overly sweet smile, “I don’t accept your apology. Now if you don’t mind, I have to go watch CSI.”
“Ashley! Don’t go. There’s more.”
“I miss a minute of Jorja and you’re dead, Erin. I swear.”
“Ok, ok! I’ll hurry.”
“I’m listening.”
“I just missed you, ok? I really, really missed you and I just couldn’t deal with the fact that you had moved on. When we were together, it wasn’t just sex for me. I felt like you were the one person who really understood me. We had a good time.”
“I don’t need all of the stuff I used to need to have a good time anymore, ok?”
“It wasn’t the drugs or the drinking either, Ashley. It was about how I felt. I love you.”
“Am I being Punk’d?” Ashley asked, pretending to search for the hidden cameras.
“Ashley, I’m serious. I mean, this new girl, she doesn’t know you like I know you.”

Aaaaaah, Im sad to say this, because I have really enjoyed this fic, but this last chapter disappointed me *shakes head* I was happy for the longevity though. I don’t believe that Ashley would have reacted like she did, in response to Spencer admitting she liked Lindsay. But it was a good first fic. *sighs*
Honestly, I feel like Ashley had seen where being all insane about the Lindsay situation had gotten her before…wasn’t good…wasn’t productive…why do it again? Especially in that moment? She had just confessed she was considering her feelings for Erin, who is she to judge at this point? But I understand disappointment with the chapter. I knew some people would leave unhappy…but it’s the way it is. Sorry, man :(
I like your story but I’m a hardcore Ashley and Spencer fan. they can fight, break up, be with other people but please put them back together in the end. will have to endure Season 2 break up all to soon. don’t do it to us now. (not that I’ve heard anything about season 2. It’s just how the tv shows do it. keep you intrested.
i want to see a pix of Linds and Erin.. i love it but Im glad Ash and SPence are still best friends.
well done, i love the way you’ve not done the typical splashly ending, but left it open for possibilities in the minds of the readers. good thing too, or u mite be gettin some hate mails lol so, i know u just finished en all but….whens ur next fic gonna be ready? lol
let me just say you did a great job with this story! you kept people guessing right to the end and you did what practically noone else has done (or had the guts to)….a non Spashley ending! i think a tad more intensity between the two, when finding out about each others future girlfriends would have gone a long way…but you know i get carried away with drama! i hope you continue to write cuz i know you’ve got a couple more chapters in you that require trips to the hospital for us readers!!

Why must all the wonderful stories come to an end. This chapter may have been bittersweet, but I’ve really enjoyed reading your fic and I’m just sad to see that it’s over.

But seriously, just to spite the the fanfic seemingly one track mind that leads only to Spashley, if you hadn’t written this I would have written one where they don’t end up together. I think your final chapter is great. Really good dialogue. Don’t let the Spashley fundamentalists get you down. =)

Thank you for that great ending. Iam a Spashley fan, but you made it interesting and diffent from all the others and it was a happy ending in my opinion. Good job. NOthing lasts forever.

SHIT!!! you got me! lol what a twist! i was totally not expecting that…jesus….first i was like damn they’re breaking it off…then i was like YES! another try…then i read the next paragraph…im happy for them, that they furthered their relationship as friends…the ending was…well…justified, and daring. I loved it…at least you had the guts to do what no one else has been able to….but i have to say…i think ash and spence belong with each other, but thats just my immature teenage mind speaking aloud….w/e this was a really good fan fic…definately one of the best finallies ive read…(its up there with casseygirls “memories”) lol…although im going to miss your post…im glad its over, so you cant send me into cardiac arrest lol, so until your next post…good job and ill be looking out for your stuff
