Spencer’s POV

7 months wasted. It was now or never. Gabriella, Madison, and Ashley were sitting in the car as I knocked on the door waiting for Carmen to come out. When she opened the door, I noticed she had a black eye and a cut up a lip. She looked vulnerable and hurt. But I wasn’t about to comfort her. There were too many hurtful memories. Too many scars. I thought she knew what was coming but apparently not. She gave me a weak smile and pulled me into a kiss. I heard a car door open and that’s when it hit me. I was here to break up with her not make out. I pulled back and she looked at me confused. I looked over to the car and saw Ashley leaning against the hood.

Carmen: Baby what’s wrong?

You have got to be kidding me. Like she didn’t already know.

Spencer: Carmen.. I cant do this anymore. We cant be together. I don’t even know who you are anymore. I’m sick and tired of getting hurt by you.

Carmen: *crying* Spencer you cant. I need you. I’ll get help I promise. All I want to do is fix this. Fix me. But I cant do it alone. I wont do it again. I promise.

Spencer: Stop! Do you know how many times you’ve promised me you would stop hitting me?! It’s all just empty promises. And it hurts too much. Emotionally AND physically!

By now I was crying and shaking my head. For some reason she just couldn’t understand. And it was really pissing me off. She set me over the edge with the next words that escaped from her lips.

Carmen: Fuck you Spencer…

Before I could even turn around and walk away, her fist landed right against my eye. And before any of it registered in my head, Ashley jumped off the car and tackled Carmen to the ground. She was punching her in the face and when I realized this I pulled her off.

Ashley: Lay another fucking finger on her and I swear I’ll break it into a million pieces.

This side of Ashley was one I had never seen before. She looked so hot standing up for me so I just smiled lightly. As they continued their argument, I had trouble keeping Ashley back. Gabi noticed this and was soon by my side. She picked her up and threw Ashley over her shoulders. I turned back to Carmen who was just giving me a death glare. I said goodbye and made my way over to the car. When I got in, I was crying and I didn’t really understand why. And to Ashley, it didn’t matter why. She just kept rubbing my back in circular motions whispering calming words in my ears. We all decided that we would just spend the night at Ashley’s. When we got there, Kyla was sleeping on the couch with Mike laying on her chest.
