    What Spencer must do.

    Once they see Ashley, both of their faces drop and they freeze before they give us all the once over. There is a moment were no one says anything and it seems as if no one is breathing.

    Then the daze is broken when Principal Cleeden looks to Professor Thomas and nods.
    Professor Thomas: “Sara and Jess, please come to my office immediately.” She turns and walks the length of the bathroom before exiting. We all share a look before Jess and Sara finally get up and follow her out.

    Principal Cleeden: “Ms. Erikson, am I correct in assuming that you can carrying Ms. Davies to Nurse Patterson’s office?” Gage nods once before she walks over to Ashley and delicately lifts her into her arms and quickly leaves the bathroom. “Ms. Carlin…Spencer, we need to go to my office right this minute to talk everything out. Let’s go.” He waits for me to stand and we quickly make our way out of the bathroom.

    Spencer: “Principal Cleeden…” I start as I hurry to catch up with his long strides, worried about where they’re taking Ashley and what will happen to her.

    Principal Cleeden: “You weren’t in the hole tonight. You were in my office while we had a meeting about your attendance.” He rushes out. I look up at him incredulously, but he is staring straight ahead as his breathing increases. “I was scolding you and your friends for skipping classes today and for your underage drinking. You haven’t seen Ms. Luz today, or since before break. You haven’t spoken to Ms. Luz today, or since before break.” As we get to the stairwell door he shoves it open and we hurriedly make our way down the steps. “You had detention today which you blew off in favor of leaving campus. I witnessed you get into a fist fight late last evening with senior Tina Hernandez…”

    Spencer: “Jess’ roommate?” I inquire as we near the first floor.

    Principal Cleeden: “Luckily I broke the fight up in time and Ms. Hernandez only suffered a black eye and a swollen cheek.” Suddenly, as we approach the first floor doors that lead to the hallway and the front office, Cleeden grabs me by the shoulders and turns me to face him. “The fight was about your friendship with Ms. Metzger and Ms. Hernandez threw the first punch which you blocked and hit her twice before I broke it up. You will say nothing else. You will not talk about Ashley. You will not bring up Samantha. You will not acknowledge Tina in any way. You will deny everything else and you will refuse to answer any further questions. Do I make myself understood?” His face is very close to mine, his dark eyes ablaze, and his breathing shallow and quick.

    8. Spencer has come a long way – she couldn’t defend herself before but she was totally there for Ashley! Albeit a little bit out-of-control. Cleeden has totally redeemed himself in my eyes! I was afraid that Spencer would have to go to jail. Of all the scenarios, I expected never the quick cover-up, alibis, getting all the stories straight … Somehow, I don’t feel sorry for Sam, she’s evil! I always love how Spencer recounts her stories- she like, turns into this total, like, valley girl. And where is she headed? Ready to face her ghosts, I hope?

    10. That was wicked amazing b. Like seriously I have been in wack crisis situations like that and everyone is moving and doing shit and a few people are wasted or confused. And oh my fuck principal fucking cleeden for the epic win! I love how hes so protective over his trouble making lesbos. Ugh i love this story so hard. You are amazing. The way you write drunk Spencer is hilarious and still my favorite but lying to the authorities Spencer is a close second! I may need your address because the panties I’m wearing, right now, belong to you.

    13. Yep, intense was the first word that came to mind after reading that. I was on the edge of my seat all the way through. I was thinking that the girls would have to use their influence at a higher level than the Principle (maybe they did?) but the fact the two teachers helped out was cool. I also thought they way Spencer played the police officers was funny….heck, who could resist a sweet, innocent Spencer??. Totally Awesome!!

    21. woah, so overwhelming! You know what i sensed…? that even though things were pretty messy everyone seemed to keep their cool and not engaging panic-mode. I don’t think the situation could hv been handled any better than it was. And YOU wrote it really well, I mean, u managed to get my heart racing really really fast from beginning to end… I was in the edge of my seat the whole time wondering when the s**t would hit the fan for Spencer and the cops would take her, and the thought of Ash dying crossed my mind… glad things turned out ‘fine’.oh and thanks for commenting on my story, I didn’t know you read my stuff ;)
