Last Kiss
I opened the car door for her making sure she was all the way in before closing it and climbing in the drivers seat. We drove in a comfortable silence to the restraunt, Only the sounds from the radio echoing through the car soothingly and the slight pounding of rain drops on the car. I felt her take my hand in hers and kiss the back of it lovingly. I turned and smiled at her.
"Oh My God Ashley Look Out." Spencer screamed. I turned my eyes back to her road just in time to see a pair of blurry hazard light blinking ahead. I turned sharply trying to keep from hitting the car.
We were out on a date in my daddy’s car,
We hadn’t driven very far.
There in the road straight ahead ,
A car was stalled , the engine was dead .
I couldn’t stop , so I swerved to the right ,
I’ll never forget the sound that night .
The screaming tires , the busting glass ,
The painful scream that I heard last .
Before I knew It I was laying on the cold, wet pavment. About 6 feet from my car.
Looking at the car from the ground I could see a soaked mound of blonde hair.
"Oh God Spencer." I crawled across the glass covered ground. "Baby? Spencer, Come on wake up." I whispered stroking her cold cheek. She was half way out of the window. After the car rolled over a few times it was left on its side. She had numerous cuts and scrapes.
"Ash?" I whispered to quietly I almost didn’t hear her.
"Yeah baby, I’m hear." She begain to cry as her body shook."Shh, Spence, Its gonna be okay."
"I’m so cold."She muttered. Pulling off my jacket I drapped it over the icy cold body I laid her head in my lap. "I love you Spencer Carlin." I placed a gentel kiss on her forehead as she slowly slipped away.
"I Love you too."
When I woke up, the rain was pouring down ,
There were people standing all around .
Something warm flowing through my eyes ,
But somehow I found my baby that night .
I lifted her head , she looked at me and said ;
"Hold me darling just a little while ."
I held her close I kissed her – our last kiss ,
I found the love that I knew I had missed .
Well now she’s gone even though I hold her tight ,
I lost my love , my life that night .
I knew she was gone. Her body was stiff and her breathing had seist. I took that locket
from my pocket, Lifting her drenched blonde locks out of the way I hooked the clasp on the necklace.
"So much for a happy anniversary baby." I leaned down pressing my lips against hers giving
her our last kiss.
”I love you too” were the last words ever spoken by the sweet blonde who had stollen my
heart. since the night of her death she’s been the first thing I think about when I awake up and the last thing I think about when I fall asleep. Her memory stalks my dreams and flouds my mind. The oinly thing that gets me through each day with out her is knowing one day I’ll be in her arms again.
Oh where, oh where, can my baby be?
The Lord took her away from me.
She’s gone to heaven so I’ve got to be good ,
So I can see my baby when I leave this world .
