I Write Sins Not Tragedies – (Chapter: A whole lot of talking)

    -~-

As I wait for 10 to come, my nerves are all jumbled. I don’t know what to say to her, or what she’s planning on saying to me. And I know she’ll most likely want an answer, on whether or not I love her. I wonder if she knows that Kyla and I talked this afternoon, and if she knows what about.

My cell phones beeps, making me jump slightly at the noise. It must be her. ‘I’m here’ is all it says, I think I’m shaking. I sneak past my parents’ room, past my brothers’ and finally I’m downstairs and leaving the house. I head towards her car while trying to read her expression, but it’s too dark. I climb into the passenger seat, and sit there quietly, waiting for her to say something. Nothing is said as we leave my house, and as I study her, I realize the nervous, yet determined expression on her face. We drive around until we reach our destination, the beach. She turns off her car, but remains silent. I want to say something helpful, profound, eloquent, but I’ve got nothing.

“I’m sorry,” she finally says softly. I furrow my eyebrows wondering what on Earth she’s got to be sorry about; well, at least towards me.

“Why are you sorry?” I ask in a tone matching hers. She looks into my eyes, and I can tell she wants to know how I feel. She sighs. I guess she hasn’t found what she’s looking for.

“I’m sorry, for all of this.” I still don’t understand. “I’m sorry because when I invited you to go out that night, when Aiden and Kyla were gone, my plans were never innocent. I knew that I wanted you.” Oh great, I’m blushing now. I can’t help it. The way she’s looking at me while she’s saying this, makes me want her…right now. But I refrain from making any moves. You’d really think I’d be able to control my libido! “And I’m sorry, for…for falling in love with you.” This grabs my attention.

“You don’t want to be in love with me?” I ask, my voice quavers slightly.

“No, it’s not that. I love loving you, you’re an amazing person. But if I hadn’t fallen in love, then maybe I would’ve been able to let you go. If I didn’t fall in love with you, you would be with Kyla, and nothing would be wrong.”
