" Will you be my Valentine?"
" I’ll always be your Valentine" Spencer smiled, kissing Ashley once again. The two girls lay there, holding each other, wishing that they could stay in that exact moment forever.

You were gone the next day Spence, and for years i’ve tried to make some sense of your death. Something–Anything– that I could call "Good" that came after al that…..bad…..And all the time i’ve been sitting up here talking to you, I remembered something I don’t think i’ve told anyone. The night of your funeral, my friend Aiden came to see me at my house, seeing if I wanted to party it up with him and the gang. I was putting it mildly rude to him. I just wasn’t up for the whole " Life is a party, and Ashley Davies is the cake" thing. But something happened that night. I think now that your death was my wake up call, that we weren’t going to live forever and the party was really going to end.
Spence I don’t think I could have had any type of serious human connection, until I realized how much I lost with you gone. It’s been 10 years since your death, and i’m married now to a girl named Veronica. I had to learn how to love again and she taught me—–

"Ashley?" A voice cried out in the dark.
Ashley clicked the recorder off and looked up to find her wife standing there.
" Hi." Veronica said gently.
" Veronica?…… How… How long have you been listening?" She questioned
" Long enough" She walked over to Ashley who was sitting on top of some old boxes. She placed her hand on the girls shoulder and gave her a quick kiss on the forehead.
" I’m sorry V, I didn’t mean for you to hear……"
" It’s alright Ash, I just came by to make sure you’re okay"
" Yeah. I’m okay" Ashley gave her wife’s hand a tight squeeze. She watched Veronica walk back down the attic steps before clicking the recorder back on.

That was my wife Spence……and uh I should get going. I guess when I try and sum up how I get— how I feel sometimes around this time of year….I feel blue. Not like I’ve been dipped in the Tidy Bowl Man, but like in jazz….in feeling blue. And I long for a time when a girl I knew with an incredible smile and so much good in her heart made me think…..life can be great….
I love you Spence….
