Ever the Same – (Chapter: Ch.18: Sleepwear is not for Swimming)

Ashley’s head was spinning. She was exceedingly happy, but she couldn’t keep her mind from wandering back to before she knew Spencer. When she kept to herself. No one trusted her, and she trusted no one. Drank a lot. Did the occasional drug-nothing too hardcore. And of course the sex, if one could even classify it as such. More like random fucking. Go out every week, scope out a hot girl, get trashed, and take her home to fool around. Of course, the next morning she’d wake up alone with a massive headache and be a few hundred dollars poorer. Possibly even missing some of her favorite clothes. Users, she called them. But hell, she used them, too. She used them for sex, and they used her for pay dirt. Every time she had done it, her already mangled heart would break more.

Then a certain golden haired beauty came along. And everything got turned upside down. Those first words exchanged between them at the lockers, although they were quite harsh, left her saying not “Hell, I’d tap that,” but “…I want to get to know that girl.”

Spencer stirred next to her, springing her from her thoughts. Good thing, too. Ashley was always finding herself thinking too much. Fact was, Spencer was here with her now. And that was all that mattered.

She lightly brushed some hair out of the blonde’s face and stared into closed eyes. Leaning forward, Ashley left a lingering kiss on the other girl’s forehead. Even when she was asleep, she could take the girl’s breath away.

Spencer grimaced and shifted once again in her sleep. Geez, this girl fidgeted a lot, and Ashley was growing bored. Who needs sleep? Wake up, woman!

As if on command, the blonde groaned sleepily, and her eyes fluttered open. Trying to make her eyes focus, she blinked a few times. When her vision cleared, she realized that her girlfriend was staring right at her. She jumped slightly, “Well, hellooo.”

Ashley chuckled. “Afternoon,” she greeted leaning forward to place a small kiss on the corner of Spencer’s mouth. “You sleep well?”

“Really well,” Spencer answered as she loosened herself from the brunette’s arms to sit up. She lifted her arms above her head for a good stretch that pulled her shirt up, letting her stomach show. “How long have you been awake?” she asked, scratching the back of her head.
