    Spencer took a deep breath, then she leant forward burying her head in the crook of Ashley’s shoulder and sniffled. She felt strong arms tug around her, and then felt herself pulled on top of her girlfriend as they lay back. Warm hands stroked her head and she let them calm her, listening to the dull thud of the brunette’s heart in her chest, closing her eyes to the beat. After a few moments she broke the silence, mumbling into the collarbone next to her,

     

    “When did you get so level headed?”

     

    “I’m not level headed. I’m just better at public speaking than you are” Trust Ashley to get right to the point.

     

    “Ok, so we don’t elope.” Spencer agreed, somewhat grudgingly. “Riley would kill us anyway”

     

    “Yup” Ashley chuckled. “Besides, you are not getting out of a chance for me to tell the whole world you’re mine.”

     

    “Oh, I knew there was a reason you were putting me through this” Spencer sat up slightly, glaring down at Ashley but with playfulness in her eyes. “You just want somewhere to perform!”

     

    “Oh, are you saying you don’t want to go through this” Ashley looked at her, mouth open with mocking gesture.

     

    “You know I do” Spencer punctuated it with a tickle. To which Ashley squirmed, and so it continued until one of them cried uncle. “I just want it to be sooner. I want to call you my wife.”

     

    “Soon” whispered Ashley, pulling her into a kiss. “Soon.”

     

    So now soon was over. Soon was today! In five short hours, Spencer Carlin would be married, to the woman she had loved since she was sixteen, in front of everyone she gave a damn about in this world. Except her mother.

     

    They had debated at length whether or not to tell her that Ashley and Spencer were even together. Spencer had spent hours talking it over with Clay, and her father, and Ashley. In the end, all three had said it was her decision and they’d stick by her no matter what she chose. She’d traveled up with her father months ago, on their usual visit. Clay hadn’t been able to come, which was unusual, but Spencer enjoyed spending time with her dad. Her mother was calmer on that day, no violence or angry gestures. Spencer was torn between choosing now as a good time to talk about it, and ruining the good day. She’d let her father have some time, leaving anything she might say to the end. As it was, she only got as far as mentioning Ashley’s name when her mother turned away from her. Clear now that it was never going to happen, Spencer had made the final, sad decision to keep her mother in the dark about her life. She supposed it was best for everyone, but it hurt like hell nonetheless.

    2. Great three part update…I did not realize there was more to the Circles story when I was reading the other installments. As I have already told you, you are a fantastic writer and everyone should be leaving comments as they read a story! You are way to talented to go under appreciated. This was a beautiful installment and a perfect compliment to the rest of the story…and a HAPPY ending :-)!!! Looking forward to reading more from you! Hope you got my pm.

    11. I love your portrayal of Ashley in this story. She seems so mature and sure of herself and such a rock. I also find it fascinating the fixation with getting married in these fanfics…since that is not a reality in so many places. I agree with the others…I think you could write more to this story. It is fun to see them happy and honest. I also like your other stories…..so please continue to devote your time to writing :)

    15. HEY! I do have a life! Just not a very big one. :) It’s hard to when you work all day and then go to school all night. Most of it is plopped down in front of a computer, which is why I get so distracted here all the time. Damn fiction! Now, please don’t tell me this is really the end of this story. I’m not saying you need to continue it RIGHT now, but maybe later? Maybe once you get over another fic or two you’ll want to revisit this one? Pretty please? I’ll be your wifey for lifey!

Uni has returned with a vengeance and I fear I will be not around and posting much – so it’ll be so much more special when I do manage to put up a few chapters ;-) I will, however, be checking for your posts, and enjoying the goober/ clomle/ bannerman/ jesus/ bicycle/ god/ randomness that we seem to be so good at! anyways, toodle pip for now – I’ve got bloody work to do, a meal to cook,and a housefull of mates to tend to – bastards! why can’t they crash someone else’s house ;-) I look fwd to more 28 days :-D
