Spencer looked her in the eye as the inherent question dawned on her. Her face darkened and she pulled back her hand in fury. “What the fuck Ashley? Of course it’s fucking his.” She stormed off from the table in such a rage that she knocked over her chair, making Ashley jump and Elly look up. All she saw was the retreating back of her mother and nothing to worry her, and she went back to watching cartoons. Ashley carefully followed Spencer into the kitchen.
“Spence” the brunette reached out.
“Don’t touch me!” Spencer swung on her heel, eyes blazing as she stared down the other girl.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean…”
“What? What Ashley? You didn’t mean what? Didn’t mean, Hey, Spencer, fucked anyone else lately?”
“No Spence, no, I’m sorry, I just wasn’t thinking. I’m sorry. Of course I wouldn’t think that.” Ashley’s face was a pattern of agony, her lip chewed furiously between her teeth and her forehead creased. “It’s just that I figured you and Gray hadn’t really been… I… I’m sorry…It… I… I have no idea where that came from because it had no basis in my thoughts I swear.” She held up her palms in apology.
Spencer let her anger seep out of her. It was probably a valid thought really, she and Gray hadn’t been very intimate of late. Once, in fact. Just once in months and look what happened. Besides, she was far too upset by her news to stay angry at her only friend, and besides, she believed her.
“Good.” She bit her lip. “For your information, you are the only person I’ve slept with aside from my husband in a very, very long time.”
Ashley tipped her head to the side. “I never thought anything different.” The silence that ensued was a little uncomfortable. It was the first time either of them had brought up what had passed and now no one knew quite what to say. “I’m sorry Spencer. Do you want me to go?”
“No.” Spencer chewed on her lip. “Unless you want to.”
“Hell no.”
“I’m still mad at you, you know.” Spencer parried, but the corners of her mouth were twitching. “You don’t get off that easy.”
“And fair enough too.” Ashley grinned. “I’ll just have to spend hours making it up to you.” The sexual implications made both girls shiver, and Spencer wisely chose to ignore the subtext.
“Damn” Spencer’s epithet made Ashley jump. It was clearly not in response to her own last comment.
“What?”
“My parents.”
“Oh hell.”
“That would be one way of looking at it. Quite an accurate way actually.” Spencer laughed bitterly.
“It’ll be ok.”
“I wish I had your enthusiasm.”
“It’s not enthusiasm, it’s strongly held belief.” Ashley took a step forward and gently held the blonde’s upper arms, rubbing up and down gently. “Whatever happen, you’re not alone ok. I’m here, whenever you need me.”
Spencer nodded. She leant forward and wrapped her arms around the brunette’s neck, pulling her into a new embrace.
“Thank-you” she whispered.

Wow…Wow…Thats about all I can say right now… … …Wow. I love this story. It is just too amazing for words. Ashley is seriously my hero in this story. I love the way she is with Spence, and how she is so willing to help take care of the new baby… even though we already know she would because she wants to be with Spencer but oh well. :) Anyway amazing update. You should seriously change the name of this story to “Amazing” because that is about the only way I can describe it. PMS! HAPPY BIRTHDAY GOOBER!!!!!!!!!
Well, well…things are quite the mess right now. Poor Spencer; what a blow to deal with. I mean, do you keep it? Single mother with two kids? What will Gray say? Or mom and dad? I mean, as much as Spencer would want the child, would she be able to support and manage a baby and a 6 yr old? Talk about not getting any sleep. Mom and dad may support Spencer having the baby and getting back together with Gray. But, we all know that is a baaaad decision and I highly highly doubt Spencer would entertain the idea. However, it is Gray’s child and if he has a change of heart and wants to raise the child, then that opens up a whole new can of worms. Not to mention, Ash will always be her close friend, but they are obviously more, and that tension and heartache will always be lurking. Hmmm…I am not Spencer and I don’t know her character’s background; but, part of me would desperately want the child, while the other half recognizes the severity of that decision and consider all issues, such as financial stability, and single-motherhood. It would be nice for her children to have a father and I would hope that one would be a part of their lives, however this specific situation may not have that luxurity. We have to make personal sacrifices in our children’s best interest. Yet, Spencer deserves to be happy also. If anything, I believe Ash will stand by her no matter what…even if she remarries, gets back together with Gray, stays single; it will be painful, but she’ll do it. That’s why Spence needs to eventually see past all the drama and such and recognize that the person who will help provide for her and stick by her through all of it, is standing right next to her. Ahhh! This fic is really starting to affect my psyche, lol. I love this fic like I love my crack.Goobers, Happy Birthday! Yay for b-days! Hope you had fun, got gifts, had a few drinks…you know the drill. :0)

YAY Happy Birthday Goober!! And can I just point out that sexual implications goood…ignoring baaaad. ;) Jk, she has enough on her plate as it is right now. And (although I hate to say this)sleeping with Ash would only add more fuel to her already burning complications. This was a good chapter! Their just growing closer and closer together thanks to this lovely pregnancy! Maybe when most of the dust settles they’ll finally be able to start reavaluate thier current ‘Just Friends’ status…hmmmm? hehe Looking forward to your next chapter. Oh and just so you know I’ll be sharing my story with you this week, maybe even tomorrow if you play your cards right. lol
