    A Vampire's Lament – (Chapter: 11-The War)

It was Raife Davies in the flesh and his dark brown eyes locked mine into one long intense gaze.

On his right cheek, there was a long, dark jagged scar which made his famous grin quite crooked. He hadn’t aged, obviously, and the bags under his eyes meant sleep was an unknown activity to him now. His face was gaunt, which exposed a lot of the lines that stretched across his forehead. His medium-long blond hair waved along with the wind and silence was the only thing taunting us, teasing us, and daring us to speak again.

The only reasonable reaction was for me to cry out in agony and hatred, as I began pounding the cold Earth below me with my fists. "Why!?…Oh, God!…No, No, No!" I cry out, tears pouring out of my eyes faster than the water spewing out of Niagara Falls. I was basically bawling now, and Kyla bent down to comfort me.

She too was crying but not as hard as I was…Raife was now the fucking poster boy of all that was evil and cruel in this world, despite his intentions.

"If you wish to live happily with your daughters, which we will not allow a bastard like you to, then why’d you bring the same demons that tortured both Kyla and Ashley a hundred years ago?!" Odette yelled fiercely, moving out of the way so Judith and Spencer could help me up.

Evana also stood alongside of her, glaring at the man I had once called my dad.

Raife was now infuriated at my guardian’s interference and I wanted to say something but I couldn’t, I was devastated.

"When we were unfairly attacked by your disgusting kind, I was left half dead until you bitches intervened. I wanted to see if my family had been shown mercy but it turns out you worsened their status; they’re fucking vampires now and I see that I’ve come across a predicament." He said, walking slowly and closer to us.

I was still crying silently into the comforting shoulder of Spencer, who was overwhelmed by everything that was being said. My heart was full of hatred and confusion; I mean, I understand why he would want revenge on the vampires but isn’t he exaggerating quite a bit?
