    A Red Sunset

    “Where?” she asked.

“I don’t know” I didn’t know anything about this city.

“My house?” she said raising her eyebrows I saw her mind fill with images of me and her together then she dispelled them. I tried to contain my amusement. If only she knew what those thoughts did to me. I wasn’t going to pretend I didn’t long for her.

“Sure” I said reaching for hand. I was irrationally overjoyed when she took it. When we reached the car I opened her door and saw my face in her mind toned with admiration. I smirked. I leaned in and took her face in my hands. Her heart accelerated, which made me grin even wider. Then I deftly leaped over her seat and into the driver’s seat laughing. She scowled and tried to recover herself. When we got to her house she made sandwiches, and offered me one. I declined saying I wasn’t hungry which made her speculate, and I saw the image of me declining food in the restaurant too in her mind. I sat down with her though, warily, because her mind was full of questions and she spoke them aloud, and I had to make up answers. It got late, and as she was showing me to the door I became determined to test my restraint. I had never sat with a human without giving in to my desires before, so I turned around and brought her lips to mine, as gently as I could. Her thoughts were surprised, and I felt her cherish the touch, but I saw a small amount of pain in the back of her thoughts, that warned me to let her go gently. She breathed out and started into my eyes, much the same as last night, the world tuned out and I looked endlessly into her brown eyes that glittered in spectrums of colors. I let out my breath and walked to the car, for appearance sake. I drove off shaking with the tension of my restraint I crashed the car into an abandoned building as soon as I was out of sight.

I sat in the seat, and then remembered the girl Alexis Manger. I got out and dialed 411 at the nearest phone booth. I found her address and smiled. I had to walk back down Jane’s street to get there, and had to keep human pace because of the pedestrians so I hoped she wouldn’t see me. Once passed her street I ran to Alexis Manger’s address. I knocked. She answered the door, and I smelt the air to make sure she was alone, then smiled invitingly.
