I Fell In Love With A Straight Girl Chp 10

I awoke before my alarm went off, and started out Monday slowly. I took my time in the shower, and didn’t bother to eat before I caught the bus. I sat in the back like usual, and fumbled with the cigarettes I forgot to take out of my pocket. I imagine the trouble I would get into if I just lit one up right here. I sighed then warped my arms around myself and let my mind wonder some place else.
I walked to my locker with my head down, I felt hungover, although I hadn’t had anything to drink since the crash. I shuttered at the not to distance memory of it all.
I looked around for a moment to see if Carmen had arrived yet. But much to my surprise she hadn’t. I gathered my books and walked slugglishy to class. I couldn’t blame Carmen for not waiting to see me.
By lunch, I had giving up on seeing her completely. “Just call her tomorrow,.” I thought to myself. The whole day just seemed like a blur, I was too lost in my thoughts to really focus at school. Finally, the last bell rang, and with a thankful sigh I walked out to meet Alice in the parking lot. I opened up her car door, and threw my backpack in the the rear seat, then got in.
“How it go Romeo?” Alice asked
“It didn’t, she didn’t come to school today.”
“Ahh Fuck You!” Alice screamed at a jocky boy as he cut her off. “I’m so glad I’m not into  fuckers like you!”
I laughed and shook my head at her.
“How was your day?” I asked, hoping to get off the subject of Carmen. Alice started to rant about the people she works with. I welcomed her distraction as she took me home.
As we pulled in to the small neighbor hood, I notice there was a cop car outside of our house.
“Alice, what’s going on?” My fear of cops streaked through my voice.
“I-I don’t know.” She parked on the street next to the house and grabbed her phone.
“I haven’t gotten a call from Tina or Bette.”
“Maybe they just got here?” I said, “Will you go with me?”
