Chapter Seven

Bette could feel her blood coursing through her veins like fire. She wanted to turn around and kill those men. But she couldn’t do that because Tina lied in the backseat unconscious, and Bette had to get her to the hospital. 

How the fuck could someone do that, how? Why? What did Tina ever do to any of them? She’s perfect in every way possible! I swear to God this is not the end, this is by far the end. Those men will pay if it’s the last thing I do. Bette thought to herself.

All of a sudden somehow through all of the chaos Angelica’s sweet face appeared in her mind. It too was another factor from her turning around the car. 

Suddenly Bette began to shake uncontrollably. 

No Bette don’t do this now, you’ve got to get her to the hospital.

Bette gripped the steering wheel with so much intensity that her knuckles had soon become white with rage. 

“Bette, are you alright?”

“No Shane, I am not fucking alright! I want to turn around and kill those bastards, but there laying next to you is my wife, my unconscious wife, and we have to get her to the God damn hospital. And on top of that, I have no fucking clue where my daughter is!”

“Bette calm down! We are on the way to the hospital, where they will treat Tina, and I just as much as you want to turn around and beat the fuck out of them, but I love Tina more than I hate them. SO DRIVE! And as far as Angelica, she’s with Mike, Kit called me a couple of minutes ago, and said she took her back home, and would be up to the hospital soon!”

“Shane, I think you need to drive, I’m going to faint if I don’t get back there with her!”

“Alright pull the car over at the next turn off, and we will switch seats!”

Bette drove faster and faster and pulled off on the turn off. She got out of the car and vomited, wiped her face, and then got back in the car next to Tina. 

Bette was trying to clean up Tina’s face with some wipes they had in the car for Angelica. She first cleaned the blood off of her lips… as soon as she touched her lip with the wipe Bette thought she was going to vomit again.
No Bette, don’t!, she thought to herself. She regained her composure and went back to cleaning Tina up.
