    Never Can Say Goodbye

“Hello”  Tina bellowed once she had finally located her cell amongst the carnage that was her bedroom.

Bette a little surprised by Tina’s greeting replied  “Hello to you too…..are you ok”

“You have got to be kidding me……my butterflies have got butterflies……I have the ac turned down so low I can actually see my breath yet I’m sweating profusely from every pore…..my entire wardrobe is scattered all over my bedroom floor……Oh and I’ve just mistaken air freshener for deodorant so I smell …..”  Bette’s laughter cut Tina’s ranting short  “Oh you think it’s funny….I’m freaking out here Bette”

Bette tried to control her laughter but Tina freaking out coupled with her own nervousness she couldn’t stop.

    “I hate you”

    “No you don’t”

    “Yes I do”

    “No you don’t”

    “Yes…..I……Do……”

“Then tell me why are you freaking out”  Bette couldn’t keep the smugness out of her voice it was refreshing for her to have the upper hand.

Tina miffed that not only did Bette appeared to be calmness personified but also found Tina’s lack of highly amusing.

“I’m not anymore….I’m not coming”  Tina stated matter of factly.

That wiped the smile from Bette’s face in an instant.

    “You have to come”

    “Why”

    “Because”

    “Because what”

“Because….because…..Alice will be devastated if you don’t come”

    “Just Alice”

    “Alice and Dana”

“Just Alice and Dana….and if you say Kit I’m hanging up”

“Ok….ok….I would be devastated if you didn’t come tonight”  Bette reluctantly admitted.

While Bette’s disclosure didn’t exactly fill Tina’s heart with hope, where there had been none was now a glimmer…maybe….just maybe if she didn’t fuck it all up tonight

    “Bette I am so scared”

“You make me feel like I’m some kind of monster I’m not going to eat you Tina”

Tina would have voiced her disappointment at Bette’s choice of words if it was possible to laugh hysterically and speak at the same time.

Bette happy in the knowledge that Tina assumed her words where unintentional,  waited until she was certain she would be heard “Feeling better”

    “A little”

“Good…now before you get yourself all worked up again…put the phone down and head straight out the door.

Tina looked down at her current attire and smiled

“Are you sure that’s the best thing to do”

    1. Hahaha who am I trying to kid! There’s no need of convincing me dear skimmer. The truth is I’m a hopeless romantic so I totally see bette opening her heart and changing for tina and their lives happily ever after! Great update can’t wait to hear about this professor and child

    2. Okay, one of them will have to give in before they die of exasperation and/or exhaustion. Bette should just take it on the chin, give in and tell Tina she has changed her mind about children. They love each other beyond imagination the rest will work itself out. They must talk and admit their undying love. Wonderfully funny update. Thanks for posting.

    3. And the truth shall set them free… Bette should probably like, tell Tina about her past. Professor Heartbreaker, Spawn of Heartbreaker, the lot. It would maybe help Tina to understand, and maybe help Bette to see that every situation isn’t the same… Thanks for posting, Skimmer, and more soon, please? cheers

    4. Ahhh…so the child belonged to the mysterious professor eh? Well something happened to scare Bette off…it will be mighty interesting to see what it was Skimmy. I’m glad that you are over your writer’s cramp on this story…I’ve been waiting for an update…Thanks! Now please post again soon.

    5. Haha! Love all the teasing, so sweet and funny! And thank Pete for that small hint about Bette’s “not again” comment – I knew it had to be something like that. I hope she can let go of her guilt and move on. Anyway how can she resist Tina? ;-) I’m glad she won’t be for too long, thanks skimmer!
