    Author Notes:

    Bette tries to explain what happened.

    Tina rushed around Bette’s bed to the right side of her where Jodie was standing not ten minutes before. She pulled down Bette’s hospital gown over her body to cover her mid-section and her thighs down to her knee caps. She also tucked the gown under Bette’s right side gently, trying not to alarm Bette. She pulled the blankets up to Bette’s collar bone area and tucked them in on both sides.

     

    Tina ran her fingers through Bette’s hair several times and picked up her hand. She squeezed it, but got no response from Bette. Bette’s head was turned away from Tina and she was staring off into space. Tina stroked Bette’s forehead and then brought her other hand to Bette’s. She flipped over Bette’s and sandwiched it between her own.

     

    Tina took a deep breath and said “Baby?”

     

    She waited several seconds and got no reply from the brunette. No sign of any movement.

     

    Tina was beginning to panic, but didn’t want to show it to Bette. She knew that something really bad just happened. Her intuition told her that Bette was starting to come to terms with it. She didn’t want to push Bette and wanted to be there for her. She knew that on top of everything else that Bette was going through she did not need this in her life right now. And she knew that she needed to summon her inner strength to be there for Bette.

     

    Tina didn’t realize all it, but somewhat audibly she mumbled “Fucking Jodie. I am going to fucking kill you”.

     

    Bette turned her head to slightly face Tina. She was looking at Tina, but she was staring right through her blankly out into somewhere far beyond the hospital room.

     

    Tina moved forward quickly and said “Bette? Honey? Can you hear me?”

     

    Bette looked at Tina and tears streamed out of her eyes down her cheeks. She blinked and more tears quickly followed.

     

    Tina said “Bette? Please, I am really scared. Can you tell me what happened?”

    Bette looked at Tina and furrowed her brows and inquisitively asked “T? Where were you? I called for you”.

     

    With this question Tina let go of Bette’s hands and dropped down into the chair on the left side of Bette. She brought her hands to head and dropped her face into them like she was praying. She thought back to the morning when she innocently left the hospital and reveled in the warm sun on her face, took a long warm shower and ate a hot cooked meal. She felt terribly guilty now. Tears started to pour out of her eyes.

    3. ugh… It makes me feel uncomfortable, yet I’m reading. hopefully Jodi will get what she deserves. Would it be considered being greedy if I’d say PPS? ;)

    4. Wow poor Bette! If it hurts to pee than Jodi was really rough and she needs to pay, maybe Tina can convince her in a little while once it’s sunk in a little. PPS:)

    5. There’s something so sweet about the way Tina protects Bette. Jodi should be horsewhipped for taking advantage of Bette just out of surgery. Does she really think that will bring Bette back to her? Please post as soon as you can!

    6. I love this story, but I’m really starting to get mad about Jodi always showing up. Someone needs to break her legs and have pins put in…also I think breaking her fingers are in order. Ok…now I feel better. Can’t wait for the next chap. PPS

    7. I want to put Jodi threw a meat grinder!!!!!! That BI**H!!!!!!!! This needs to be reported to the police, Jodi can come back and really hurt Bette. PPS

    8. Oh dear..so much has happened since i last read.jodie is such a nasty peice of work how will Bette made it through this emotional rollercoaster that is never ending.

    10. jodie should be either whipped to death or just out right killed. Tina does not need to be the one to do it but Shane could with some of her buddies. jodi is an animal and deserves tobe treated as such. PPS

    11. How terrible for Bette. And for Tina. I hope she doesn’t blame herself for this, in any way. And I hope she calls the police in anyway. Either way? Jodi is a dead woman walking. Dead. PPS. Thanks

    14. God poor Bette *snif* ….Tina needs to show some very attentive love with this shower and then find Jodi and kick her ass big time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DIE JODI….DIE……… *EVIL LAUGH* :)
