    chapter 12
    ********Bette and Tina make love*****

    Tina slammed the door as the came through it. She wasn’t so mad,as disappointed.  Disappointed in Bette. Tina  had been embarrassed and humiliated tonight ,while Bette and her ex had gone at it. Who the fuck ,was Jody anyway? I guess Bette forgot to tell me that little bit of information ,when we shared our past. How dare her think she could get away with ____

     

    The knock on her door halted her embarrassing ruminations. Just as she’d suspected, it was Bette. And as usual, she was insolently propped against the doorjamb.

     

    “Was it something I said?”

     

    Tina crossed her arms over her chest. “No,it’s what you are, Ms Porter”

     

    “Pray tell, what is that?”

     

    “A conceited,  spoiled, self-centered, _____

     

    “Wow, all that…”

     

    “I  know your type, and I despise it. You are a woman Bette ,but you think and act like a man. You think women were put on this earth  solely to be your plaything, to be used and disposed of at your whim.”

     

    She had Bette’s attention now ,she straightened up; the smug smile was no longer tilting up one corner of her mouth.

     

    “Now wait a minute, don’t you think that’s a little too harsh?”

     

    “No ,you wait a minute, I’m not finished. You play with people’s emotions Bette. And you never seem to take responsibility for the people you hurt”

     

    “I______”

     

    “Look at me and look at you, after everything that went down at the Planet tonight,” .Tina was sawing her hand back and forth between them. “Knowing the kind of  person you are, do you for one moment think that  I think  that you’re interested in more than just a romantic interlude with me?, well I don’t. I’m not that stupid. Nor am I naïve enough to think that you want o long term relationship with me…or any woman for that matter. “You’re coming on to me because I intrigue you, I’m new in town, fresh blood. You’re interested because I may be the only woman this side of West Hollywood that you haven’t slept with yet.”

     

    “I_____

     

    “Don’t you dare deny it, and even if you were interested for another reason,  I’m not, and I’m sick of your juvenile innuendos and asinine suggestions. I find them in the poorest of taste. I’m not here for your amusement ,and I resent you thinking I am. If you think I can be washed over by your charm, by your beautiful face, or your trite come-on lines ,think again.”
