Under a Half Pink Moon (Time of Day 10)
"I never should have let you go. I would do anything for another chance. I’m not afraid to make a fool out of myself." Even though she paused before initially speaking, the words came easily enough to Tina.
After saying good night Tina closed the phone, giving herself a moment to think about what she was doing, really.
She had just armed Bette with words for getting back another woman. Potent words. She’d thought about saying them, saying something like them, to Bette in her dreams often enough. And now, well, now they were good words and they should at least be used by someone, if not by her.
And here she was.
Bette was in New York and she was here, on the beach, with Kate.
Kate who had offered herself up often enough. Kate who had commented on suit wearing on more than one occasion, in a good way. Kate who had asked her to come home with her after Bette’s dinner party.
Then there was the Bette aspect of things. Bette seemed to be pushing Tina towards Kate, mentioning her early in the morning, mentioning her prior to leaving for the airport.
At that point, Tina was beginning to wonder if that was for herself, or to make it easier for Bette if Tina was back in another relationship.
Did she want a relationship? A relationship with someone that she was working with, no less?
Tina looked at Kate, standing there, having moved away. She approached, slowly, from behind.
Kate was shorter than Bette, but that lent itself to interesting possibilities.
Taking earlier overtures as an offer, Tina brushed Kate’s hair back, planning on placing a kiss on her cheek.
Kate, though, expressed surprise, taking a step back, muttering something about “more time.”
Tina closed the space between them, taking Kate’s hands in hers.
She peered at the face of the director, then loosened the white silk scarf covering the woman’s neck. She though about kissing the newly exposed skin. Instead, looking the other woman in the eye, Tina leaned in, capturing Kate’s lips.
Her hands moved to Kate’s cheeks. They didn’t exert enough force to hold Kate in place, but Tina could feel the tenseness as she leaned in again. This kiss bolder.

part II… just wondering…how do do think Bette’s love and devotion to Angelica and Jodi’s aversion to kids will play out… in this Tina clearly wins….
Special thanks to all who are commenting today. I’m feeling a bit battered by circumstance today, and knowing you’re reading helps make things better.
nicely done, Pseud. you’re one of the first authors i go to when i see a new post.
Another great chapter – keeping the hope alive – Tibette in 08
i agree, Bette is the only one who’s blind
Pseud, if I’d known I would have commented yesterday. I always look for any story of yours and regard each one as a “how to” of exceptional writing.
Maybe just maybe Jodie will decide to stay in New York and Bette will return to LA. I do understand Tina reluctance to voice her love for Bette. Even if everyone else sees it and Bette does not Tina is doing the right thing in letting Bette come back to her on her own terms.
This is good!
Well, poop. If I had known yesterday wasn’t so great, pseud, I’d have read this and commented then rather than now. I hope things are better now. And Bette is definitely blind. I keep expecting Shina to happen here though. LOL Meh if Bette wants to go singing’ in the fields of NY with Jodi then let Tina have some fun.
Pseud, That was torture. On one hand in was pleasing to see Tina take the initiative and move towards Kate however it wasn’t who her heart wanted. This vibe is what Kate picked up on and so left. Shane was a true friend; ready to offer support and comfort while realizing the cause. More please as this is becoming a must read series. Many thanks for sharing your talented words with me. Your Loyal Fan.
Excellent!
tina + beach + thinking about bette + shane comforting = perfect. thanks for this.
Pseud,I’m really enjoying your stories–always have. I have a real problem with the Kate character and cannot even imagine Tina being attracted to someone with so little class. IC could have made much better use of Sciorra–she’s a wonderful actress being asked to play a role not in keeping with her talents. I look forward to more of your writing!Lin
Thank God for the ff writers, the only thing that makes the hiatus even bearable
Excellent as always! I can only hope Tina uses the “Spring Break” time to formulate a plan to let Bette know how she feels!
Excellant post! You’re a very talented writer. I wish I had your skills…LOL. PPS!
Maybe Shane could have a friendly chat with Bette when she gets back to discuss A. how shitty Jodi has been to her, and B. how Tina’s still in love with her.
Tina will get more than crumbs. I just can’t see, or rather, refuse to see, Bette and Jodi lasting any length of time. Great post as always, pseud. Thanks
Oh, it hurts! But it hurts so good… beautiful, as always. So wonderful.
Love your way with words pseud! Thanks for writing.
expanding on what funnyone said. c- shes a lousey kisser. great job. thanks.
