Masked Feelings CH 36 The Funeral

Alice felt like the square peg in the round hole. She didn’t belong here and what made matters worse was that she was glad Gina was dead. Alice tried to conjure up tears by trying to find something in Gina that touched her, but there was no magical moment. It wasn’t necessary to bawl her eyes out, but she did need to appear that she was mourning. Being under the watchful eye of Tony and the rest of the family only confirmed the fact that she needed to express sorrow. Alice had to dig up a very painful memory in order to act the part of a grieving fiancee’ and she knew what memory would do it for her. Within seconds, Alice was crying. Tony turned to look at her and pulled the handkerchief from his breast pocket. He hands it to her and pulls Alice to his chest. That display brought a few more looks. At least now she was playing the part. Tony was having an unusual effect on her. He smelled of cologne and aftershave…. the combination together mingled, giving off a heady scent. Alice was feeling safe in his arms. She buried her face in his shoulder. Roxy was watching from a distance and she was insanely jealous. It was more than just that though, she knew how Tony operated. He used women…..plain and simple. What was worse…… the more a woman would try to resist him, the more persistant he was. Alice was sure to fight him off like she had done with her. Regardless of any chemistry, Alice refused to cheat on Dana…. at least so far. Roxy was worried about Alice clinging to Tony…. was it an act or something else. No talking had happened between the two as of yet.

It had been like a switched that had been turned off, Alice thought of Dana and pulled away from Tony. Roxy could see the disappointment in his face when she did. Alice was feeling overwhelmed by the whole experience. She couldn’t stand to be there one more second, she tried to get up and leave but Tony grabbed her firmly by the wrist. Tony whispers to her.

Tony – You’re not going anywhere. It’s beginning.

As much as Alice wanted to leave, at least now with the service starting she didn’t feel as self conscious. She shook her arm to get Tony to let go of her wrist, which he finally did. Alice wasn’t exactly a church goer, so the funeral lasted what seemed like forever. This would not be it, there was still the graveside service. She had a feeling that Tony would not let her out of his sight… now. The church was hot and stuffy. Alice was in need of fresh air…. she was feeling light-headed. It was more then likely a response to the stressful situation. Luckily, the service was almost over. Tony kept looking over at her, noticing her pale complexion.

    1. I love it, had to go back and read it was very busy. Keep posting, I know my girls will survive all of this heartbreaking events. Love ’em…cheers!!! Peace

    2. Glad to see you I put a smile on your face. ;) I loved the ending, all warm and fuzzy right now. :D I can totally see Alice trying to cry over Gina. Glad she passed the test of mourning in front of Tony. ;) Btw, Tony is a real creep! ‘I make no threats, just promises.’ Yeah right, Alice is in so much trouble! I loved the reaction of Alice to Roxy question how she was feeling. ‘Ofcourse I’m not ok…’ Duh…stupid question Roxy! :D Did Roxy and Gina really have a fling? Roxy takes her work way too seriously, hooking up with every girl who can provide information on unraveling the mob family. ;) To answer your question on killing off which main character, it would be an easy way out to kill Roxy (in the near future). I wouldn’t mind if she stays a little bit longer (I like jealous Roxy). But if you really need to kill off one of the main characters I wouldn’t mind Roxy being killed. I know a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do. :P As long as Dana and Alice stay alive (with little sparks of hope they will be together), I’m a very happy reader. :DWell, bring on the dinner (funny, last time I was excited over a dinner in your story was the one were Dana and Alice sort of made out…don’t think that will be happening next dinner, will it?) I’m glad Dana will be out of hospital and back at home (hopefully with Alice somewhere around).

    3. I love how you’ve manage to give us drama without killing the characters we love in the most horrible way imaginable…I’m not pointing fingers(ahem…IC)

    4. I was so excited to see you posted! Great chapter! The whole Tony situation looks like it’s going to get wicked crazy! I love my Danish moments…I still can’t wait till Dana’s home and they can try out some of Dana’s ideas…Thanks for the warm and fuzzies! Also I liked seeing Roxy squirm (mmmuuuaahhhhaaahhhaaa!!!)serves her right for trying to seduce Alice! Can’t wait till your next update!

    5. roxy dated gina…roxy and tony are working together…ahhh more twists! i do not like the outlook of the next few chapters, but bring on the drama. thnx for the warm and fuzzy feeling :). with all the crap danish endured so far, it’s amazing how strong their relationship is. i can’t wait for things to finally settle down.
