Within Temptation – (Chapter: 63: Clarification )
Ashley’s Pov
I woke up and Spencer was in the floor rummaging through some of her unpacked boxes. It was cute, because she still had a bad case of bed head. I propped on my elbows and watched her.
Ash: “Morning beautiful.”
She snapped her head in my direction and she was wearing the biggest smile. She practically leapt into my arms and squealed.
Spe: “OH! Good morning honey baby!”
Ash: “Someone is happy.”
Spe: “I just missed you.”
She blushed and looked down. I loved that about her. She was always so adorable. I grabbed her chin and lifted her lips to mine for a soft kiss.
Ash: “You are just too precious for words.”
She blushed even harder and I hugged her close. I slid my fingers through her hair and looked into her eyes.
Ash: “How long have you been up?”
Spe: “About half an hour. Not long.”
Ash: “What have you been doing?”
Spe: “I was thinking and sifting through my stuff. Just trying to trigger my memory.”
Ash: “Any luck?”
Spe: “None,”
She let our a heavy sigh and rested her head on my shoulder.
Ash: “I’m sorry love. It will eventually come back. Keep trying.”
Spe: “I will. It’s just frustrating. I don’t know anything that happened in that entire year.”
Ash: “I wish you could remember. I would like to know how your year was without me.”
Spe: “I wish I could tell you.”
I kissed her cheek and she sat silent on my lap. She seemed to be lost in thought, so I didn’t interrupt.
Spe: “Hey, Ash?”
Ash: “Yeah?”
Spe: “You said you want to know what I was up to for a whole year.”
Ash: “Yes I do.”
Spe: “I obviously can’t tell you yet, but you can tell me how your year was.”
I sat for a moment thinking about where to start when I felt her eyes boring holes into mine. I looked up at her with a straight face and let out a slow sigh. My year was absolutely miserable without her. I didn’t think she needed to hear about it. I didn’t want to make her feel bad. Her life was already turned upside down enough.
Spe: “Hello? Ash?”
She waved her hand in front of my face and did that cute head tilt.
Ash: “Sorry. I was just trying to figure out where to start.”
Spe: “How about from the beginning?”
Ash: “Sounds reasonable. Well, after you left I wasn’t so happy. I moped around here for a couple of weeks until my tour started. I called you every day, but there was never an answer.”
