Within Temptation – (Chapter: 45: Bad news bear)
Spencer’s Pov
Spencer: “Hey, dad. Our plane just landed. I’m back home.’
Arthur: “Glad you made it safely. When are you coming home?”
Spencer: “That’s what I was calling about. I wasn’t sure if I should just yet.”
Arthur: “You are safe to come home. I promise. Your mom isn’t there. Actually I don’t think anyone is there. Clay had a big night out with Chelsea and Glen went to shoot hoops with Aiden. “
Spencer: “ Then I’ll see you when you get there.”
Arthur: “ Alright.”
I hung up the phone and walked over to Ashley. We packed our luggage in her car and She drove me home. I started unloading my bags and Ashley of course helped. She always fussed over me. She wouldn’t let me do anything by myself. Unless it was something I enjoyed. The house was dark, but Aiden’s car was here. I set my bags down and opened the unlocked front door.
Spencer: “HELLO?”
My voice echoed through the house and I heard movement coming from upstairs. Just then a rather flushed Aiden came running down the stairs.
Aiden: “Hey.”
He was a little out of breath. Those macho jocks were probably testing out some new work out equipment. Always trying to look good.
Ashley & Spencer: “Hey.”
Spencer: “You don’t have to leave just because I’m home.”
He gave me a goofy grin.
Aiden: “I was already on my way out. Parents are out of town again. You girls up for another party?”
Ashley: “HELL YEAH! I mean… Uh… I am if Spencer is.”
She blushed. I love how enthusiastic she can be at times. It really is cute when she shows her excited side.
Spencer: “I just got back from a rather relaxing vacation. I’m sure a party wouldn’t hurt to wake me up from all the relaxation.”
Aiden: “Alright! I’ll text on of you with the info.”
He looked back and forth between Ashley and I as if he were confused on who to text.
Spencer: “Text Ashley. She’s the one who drags me around.”
We laugh and he offered to help with my bags. I told him Ashley and I could handle it and he walked out the front door to leave. A party couldn’t hurt to take my mind off of things. I know I had a relaxing vacation with the girl of my dreams, but I had a gun shoved in my face. I saw a guy get killed right in front of me and I still have no answers to all the questions running through my mind. I wish I knew more about this Veronica. I just can’t be mad at her for potentially saving our lives. Ashley and I carried all of my bags up to my room. Right as I made it to my bedroom door I saw glen step out of his room. We briefly made eye contact before he turned and went back to his room, shutting the door behind him. I don’t think Ashley noticed, but those were tears coming from his eyes. He had pain written across his face. I haven’t seen Glen cry since we were kids. I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to do. For now I will leave him alone. He didn’t seem like he was in a talking mood. I carefully set the expensive luggage beside my bed and Ashley carelessly dropped it on the floor. I gave her a smile.
