    Chapter Six

     

    ASHLEY’S POV:

    I know I’ve been wrong in the way I’ve been treating Spencer. She wants to be more than friends, but all I have to give is my friendship. It’s not that I’m not attracted to Spencer, because believe me I am, in every way possible. But what I am supposed to do? Jump into a relationship I’m not ready for. Spencer deserves better than that. She deserves better than me. She deserves someone who knows they want to be with her with every certainty in the world. But I don’t know how to do that?

    Crowd: Surprise!!

    Everyone in the crowd jumps out from their various hiding spots as Ashley enters Grey. Ashley stands there looking at everyone in awe. Spencer, Kyla, and Chelsea run up to Ashley and give her a hug.

    Ashley: What is this?

    Kyla: It’s your surprise party. Did you really think we were going to forget your birthday?

    Ashley smiles.

    Ashley: I can’t believe you guys. You were so mean today acting like you didn’t know it was birthday.

    Kyla: Yeah well we had fun with it.

    Chelsea: We have one more surprise for you too.

    ???: Well if it isn’t Ashley Davies.

    Ashley: Madison!

    Ashley runs up to Madison and gives her a big hug.

    Ashley: Oh my God, what are you doing here?

    Madison: I came back to town for a couple of days before I have to go back on tour.

    Ashley: This is so great. I haven’t seen you in forever. I’m so glad you here.

    Madison: Well you can’t have a party without me can you?

    Spencer: Well what are we waiting for? Let’s dance!

    Spencer takes Ashley’s hand and pulls her to the dance floor. Madison, Kyla, and Chelsea all follow.

    I can’t believe the girls did this for me. I never thought they would ever throw me surprise party like this. I’m even more excited that my best friend from high school, Madison, was able to come. I hardly ever get to see her with her busy schedule. She’s a professional dancer, and I don’t mean an exotic dancer. I mean she goes on tour with Jennifer Lopez and Justin Timberlake. Anyway, we spent the first couple of hours dancing and hanging out. I was about to get a drink when I heard singing.
