Son meets Seattle Grace – (Chapter: 4)
Clay pulled his car into the empty parking space, shifted into park, and sat there, hands still gripping the steering wheel, and took a deep breath.
“This is it,” he thought to himself.
The last few years Clay had found himself really coming into his identity. He wanted, no needed to know where he came from. He loved his adoptive family more than anything, but there was still that part of him that longed to someday meet his birth parents. After months of searching, he finally found his mother about a year ago. Her name was Cecily, and she was a waitress in Nevada. She had helped to answer many of his questions, and the two grew pretty close over the last year, keeping in contact as much as possible. Unfortunately, she could not assist much in helping him find his father. She knew very little about him, so Clay has spent the majority of his spare time over the last few months searching for him.
He stepped out of his car, locking the doors behind him with a click of the button on his keychain. He stood before the massive building in front of him, unsure of how to proceed. After months of research, his search had led him back to Seattle, and not just to Seattle, but to the very hospital that his own mother and little sister worked at.
Small world, he thought to himself as he entered through the main entrance of the hospital. He stopped at the nurses’ station and asked for directions to the surgical wing. Dr. Preston Burke, I hope you are ready to meet your son.
I awoke the next morning with a bit of a hangover. I guess I drank more than I thought last night I thought to myself. I rolled over and saw her still fast asleep in my bed. She hadn’t even made it to the guest room last night, not that I was complaining. I groaned as I sat up, my eyes darting to the clock on my nightstand.
“Shit!” I laid my hand on Spencer’s arm and shook her. “Spencer get up, we’re gonna be late.”
She groggily opened her eyes and looked at me, my words not quite registering with her yet. She yawned and sat up too, now realization finally set in. “Oh crap, Cristina’s gonna kill us if we miss rounds.”
