“Get hit three times and you’re out. Once you’re out, notify your partner and head back to camp.  From there we’ll decide on another round or not. As for the radios, pick a channel and stay on it.  No cheating and listening to the other teams’ conversations.  Other than that, there are no rules. Over.”  Aiden addressed the group over the radio. Madison followed him closely, their eyes scanning the dense forest around them.

“Ten Four.”  Kasey replied calmly, her words were then repeated by Spencer and Kyla.

“Let the slaughtering begin!”  Ashley yelped into the device enthusiastically.  She glanced over at Kasey smiling from ear to ear.  “I say we go directly for Spence and Ky.  Easy prey. Oh, and let’s stay on channel four.”

“Alright.  Let’s split up a bit and keep our eyes peeled.  I’m sure you could spot that blonde from a mile away.”  Kasey laughed as Ashley rolled her eyes and pursed her lips.  “Pfft, you’re just jealous.”

“Jealous?”  Kasey chuckled as they walked further apart.  “Jealous of the fact that the only thing you can do lately is think of a certain blonde?  Nope, sorry.”  Ashley stopped and turned to face her partner, she smiled.  “No need to deny it Kase, we’ll find someone for you. Don’t worry.” With that Ashley bounced away giggling.  Kasey shook her head amused.  ‘Never! I’m a wild child that can’t be tied down.’ She thought.

Little did the two know that Spencer and Kyla were less than fifty yards away.  Aiden and Madison were on a completely other planet at this point, they seemed to be going in circles every time the boy gave directions. 

Kyla had extremely keen ears.  As the two pairs neared each other the younger Davies sibling stopped in her tracks, grasping the blonde’s attention.  Their eyes widened as they spotted Kasey walking alone, her mask lifted up on her head.  Ashley was nowhere to be seen.

"You go right, I’ll go left.  We’ll surround her."  Kyla whispered into the blonde’s ear.  Spencer nodded and followed the command she had been given.

Kasey continued walking, enjoying the warmth of the forest and the melodic chanting of the birds.  It reminded her of the times she and Aiden used to camp out here.  Ashley was long gone but knew she wasn’t very far.  Suddenly she felt watched; the forest abruptly became much too quiet.  The feeling was hard to explain, yet she felt a pair of eyes on her.  The brunette stopped dead in her tracks and listened carefully. Filtering through the natural sounds of the forest, she narrowed her eyes and focused on anything out of the ordinary.
