Bette woke up from her queen-size bed and groaned loudly. Her sister Katherine, but Kit as she liked to be call was awake, playing the music loud. She got up from her bed and walked out of her bedroom. She walked down the steps and made her way to the kitchen.

“I’m every woman, it’s all in meeeee.” Kit was singing while she was cooking breakfast. Kit took care of her baby sister and has been for the last ten years. Their father and Bette’s mother died in a car accident, and Kit has been Bette’s sister, mother and father. She’s a recovering alcoholic and drug addict. She was the only family that Bette had, and she came to the rescue. Kit moved into their father’s home and stayed. Bette smiled softly as she watched her sister dance around. Kit finally turned around and jumped.

“Girl—you scared the shit out of me.” She grabbed her chest and sighed heavily.

“I’m sorry for scaring the shit out of you.” She walked over to the island and took a seat.

“So—,” Kit continued to finish up breakfast. “Did you enjoy yourself last night?”

“Uhh,” Bette dropped her head on the counter. “I don’t want to talk about it.”

“Did Tina get on your nerves?” Bette shook her head.

“I don’t know how long I can take of her. She’s becoming the uber bitch I feared of.”

“She was that bad girl.”

“I don’t know what it is. I really think that our course has run out. I’m not happy with her anymore.” Bette raked her fingers through her hair.

“Well, you do this.” Kit grabbed a plate and put an omelet on it and a piece of bacon. “You talk to her, and you tell her that you want to take a break.”

Bette shook her head. “That’s such a cliché K. I can’t do that.”

“Will you just listen to me for once baby sis?” Bette sighed and nodded. “Ok—you tell her that you want to take a break, and you don’t want to be drag down by an uhh uber bitch as you called her.”

Bette laughed softly. “I think I’ll take that advice.”

Kit smiled. “Thank you. Now, eat your breakfast and then get ready for school.” Bette grabbed her fork and looked down at her plate.
