You Told Me You Love Me Part 10

A smile crept up across the journalist’s lips as she found the page of the magazine she had been looking for. The title caught her eyes.

Dana Fairbanks: The Making of the Champion

It was a seven pages interview from Women’s Weekly that consisted of the story behind the tennis player particularly on the battle with cancer and also tons of pictures of her. She read each word carefully and flipped page by page slowly as if it would hurt the book if she did it roughly. Her smiles grew larger when her attention switched to the pictures. Her tennis player looked so beautiful in each of them. There were pictures from her childhood, teenage years, practises, matches and picture of her holding the Mercedes Cup years ago.

Alice smiled at the memory. She remembered watching the match with her friends at Wax. Dana totally wiped off her opponent. She recalled how Dana jumped up and down after being announced as the winner. Happiness was written all over Dana’s face and her smiles could light up the whole room. Alice remembered herself jumped up and down as well and grinned like an idiot seeing her best friend winning the tournament. But as soon as Dana pulled Lara in for a heated kiss her grin subsided immediately. Her heart broke instantly and she had to look away, convincing herself that it was just a friendly kiss. She remembered all she did after watching that match was to cry to herself in her own bedroom.

Alice shook her head to clear the cobwebs in her mind. It happened years ago yet she could still remember every single thing that involved the tennis player. She didn’t know whether it was a good thing or bad thing. She sighed and continued to flip to the next page. Her eyes opened wide at the last two pictures of the article. They were taken just taken recently; one was Dana holding up the Wimbledon trophy and one during the interview itself where Dana was holding a glass of wine grinning from ear to ear. Alice caressed the surface lovingly. Dana looked more matured now but her goofy grin was still notable. Alice thanked to anyone above that at least they didn’t take her favourite trademark away from the tennis player. And her eyes, there was a glint on them and from her face expression she looked contented with her life. Alice read the words written below the pictures.

    1. Aww poor Alice. I bet she’s had arough 4 years with no contact. Like MaGoose said it’s nice that despite the memory loss and the years apart Dana still feels that connection to Alice. I’m glad she’s ready to go face her past. Get my girls back together. Can’t wait for your next post.

    2. excellent update..I can’t wait for dana to remember who alice was to her life before she lost her memory..howie, stop hooking up dana to some girls, she belongs to alice..alice, don’t worry, she’ll remember you..thank you uhhuh..please post soon..

    3. Four years? Wow. I am glad Dana is healthy and her career is strong. But Alice having no contact for that long? Poor Alice. I am glad her friends are there for support. I like that even with the memory loss, Dana still feels that special connection to Alice. I’m glad Howie is giving Dana the gentle push she needs to go where her heart is. Thanks, uhhuh!! Can’t wait to see more.
