Chapter 20

Tina just stood there. Feeling the horrible tension in the room.  The normal thing for Bette to do next was to introduce Tina to Jodie.

But would Bette do that and if, how would she introduce her?

Bette was angry; who the hell did Jodie think she was. Coming back to town, to her school, taking her art class from her and messing up her life again.

Bette knew she had to introduce Tina to Jodie, but what should she say.

They had not gone public with their relationship. And if she told Jodie that Tina was her girlfriend, she would probably run to the board and tell them immediately. But what would Tina say if she didn`t introduce her as her girlfriend.

She got more frustrated, and the silence was unbearable.

Bette tried to get an answer to what to say from Tina, put her eyes did not give anything away.

“Ehhh, and this is Tina Kennard, she is the music and drama teacher and my….” Bette said, but was interrupted by the principal.

“Ah Miss Porter, I can see you have already met Miss Learner” The principal said as she entered Bette`s classroom.

“I was hoping you could help Miss Learner get settled after classes today” The principal continued as the bell rang.

Tina knew that she was not going to get to talk to Bette, with one sad look at the brunette, she turned and walked out of the classroom, that was about to fill up with students.

She started to walk back to her classroom, when she heard somebody call her name. She turned and saw it was Jodie.

Jodie walked to her with a evil grin on her face.

“I just wanted to tell you to stay away from Bette from now on” she said.

“I beg your pardon” Tina replied, and felt her anger build. What the hell she thought.

“Yeah, It`s obvious that you have some crush on her, but she is taken, and I want you to stay away from her” Jodie replied.

Tina knew it was not her place to tell Jodie that she and Bette were together. Nor did she think it was a good idea at this point. She did not trust Jodie, and she could mess up both their careers. But she was not letting her think for one second that she owed Bette, and that Tina was going to back off.

“Taken by whom? Are you and Bette together?” she asked.

Jodie hesitated a little before she answered.

“No, not at the moment, but we were and we are defiantly going to be again soon”

“Well then, the only one who could ask me to leave Bette alone, is Bette, and I don’t take any orders from you Miss Learner” Tina said, and turned.

“I tell you again Miss Kennard, stay away or you will be sorry” Jodie said.

Tina just walked away, lifting her right hand and waved goodbye to Jodie.

She was boiling with angry, but now way she going to sink to Jodie`s level of treats. If Jodie wanted a fight, Tina would give it to her, but she would not play dirty.

Of course she was scared of loosing Bette. But she after their talk, she would fight for Bette until the end. She only hoped Bette would fight for them too.

She knew she had to talk to Bette as soon as possible. I will try to find her in the lunch break she thought and entered her classroom.

“Sorry for being late guys, but something came up” She said to her students and started her class.  She could not wait for lunchtime to come.
