At 7:15pm Bette stood in the doorway looking at the half empty suitcase on the bedroom floor. Tina was home.
Bettes eyes came to rest on a piece of paper that lay on the bed. She walked over and picked it up. Tinas rounded print left the details of her whereabouts.
Hollywood Foreign Press Association Gala Dinner – 6:45 for 7:30pm.
Garden Room the Hotel Bel Air.
Dress is formal.
If youre not otherwise engaged I hope youll join me.

Bette frowned at the note if youre not otherwise engaged, Tina never used that expression.
Bette glanced at her watch as she began to mentally sort through outfit choices. She reached into her jacket pocket and retrieved her cell. Flipping it open she began scrolling for Tinas number but stopped. She closed the phone and threw it on the bed. She changed her mind and decided to turn up at the dinner and surprise her wife. Stripping out of her shirt she crossed the hall to the bathroom.
Just before 8:30 Bette pulled into the driveway of the Hotel Bel Air and handed her car keys to the valet attendant. She made her way through the lush hotel gardens and continued on towards the function room. As she rounded a corner close to her destination she saw a couple standing together at the far end of the corridor.
Her eyes were immediately drawn to the woman who was wearing a red backless dress which fitted and flowed from her physique perfectly. Her hair was styled neatly, showing off the graceful curve of her neck, along with her sculpted back and shoulders.
The couple stood at the end of the hallway near an exit door. The woman rested her arms on the shoulders of her companion. His hands shifted from her waist to run along the expanse of her bare back.
Bette blinked, unable to reconcile what she saw with all she held as true.
She bristled at the sight of someone touching Tina that way. She stood tall and began to make her way toward the pair, her eyes narrowed on the offender.
She saw Tina say something but was too far away to hear the whispered words. He leaned down and claimed Tinas lips with his own in a tender kiss. Bette stopped dead, frozen with fear, horrified at what she saw. Unable to move she willed Tina to push him away, slap him, stop him! The couple broke apart momentarily and looked at one another before Tinas arm slid around his neck and pulled his mouth to hers once again.

OMG, my stomach dropped….the angst. This is almost as bad as when I thought Bette was on the plane that crashed. I’m sitting on the edge of my chair…awaiting the next chapter and hopefully an explanation.
hey, Bette thought that was Tina, right???? And who pray tell is Clara?? I hope it’s no one important. So now the drama unfolds, with lots of graphic make up love scenes……..right???????
OK makes me think it’s Greg’s girlfriend, not Tina b/c we don’t know what Tina is wearing. Hmmmmm.. No matter. Tina wouldn’t do that. Not my Tina. LOL… Great chapter..

Tina shouldn’t jump to conclusions and if it isn’t Bette neither should she. Tina is going to be sorry if she sleeps with Greg because I don’t think Bette cheated with Clara.

I am astounded by this turn of events.
Was it T that Bette saw? Is this Tina’s pay back for Clara’s bouquet? When will the gals just sit down and talk to each other rather than jusp to conclusions after a minutes observation.
It is good to talk and I am sure that you will have them doing that at some point. Just get the feeling that there is likely to be a load of shouting and screaming and storming off.
Your talent is just pouring off the screen. Love your work. This is a roller coaster ride that I’m getting white knuckled about. What a thrill it is but does have my stomach churning by equal measures.
