You Are The Light That Makes My Darkness Disappear -Chapter Two

    Chapter 2

Ashley was in the passenger’s seat of her mother’s Mercedes. She was scribbling some words in her composition book, and listening to her iPod. She hummed the words to the music.

I can not possibly be this lonesome.

I feel you carrying me through my prison.

You have always been the reason.

And against you, I refuse to commit a treason

She suddenly felt her mother’s hand on her back. She pulled out the right ear bud and looked at her mother.

    “What?”

“Nothing, we are almost there and I figured you’d like to know.”

Ashley closed the book and slumped down in her seat.

“I don’t understand why I have to keep coming to these dumb ass brunches every morning. Aunt Alice is really starting to give me a head ache.”

“Ash come on they love you. And well, Alice gives us all head aches.”

Ashley giggled and she felt her mother ruffle her hair. Soon they were pulling in front of the small café her Aunt owned. Her mother parked the car and looked at her.

“Alright Ash, please no attitude and just be good please. They really enjoy seeing you and taking what I did out on them isn’t fair to them.”

    Ashley nodded.

“But Mom I just don’t understand why!”

“The reason why is because I said so.”

“Ugh, I obviously know you said so, but why did you say so?”

“Because I am just not letting you go to a Paramour concert with Ayden! You’re only 16.”

“Exactly I’m 16. Let me grow up!”

“I’ll let you grow up missy, you can start by getting a job and paying for your own shit from now on!”

“Mommmmm, that’s not fair. That’s not what I meant!”

“I know, but you’re not going. End of discussion. Now put a smile on your face and act like your happy, and we will talk more about this later. Alright?”

    “Whatever.”

Ashley put on her smile looking in the visor mirror fluffed her hair a bit and stepped out of the Mercedes and straightened her skirt.

“Jesus Ash, could that skirt be any shorter?”

“Probably. You want me to look next time?”

    “Smart ass!”

The two girls walked into the café and sat down with a group of girls begging to have a somewhat civil breakfast.
