You Are The Light That Makes My Darkness Disappear – Chapter Ten.

    Chapter 10

“Alice I swear if we miss the opening I am holding you completely responsible.”

    “Chill mini-”

    “Don’t even say it!”

“Will you two quit arguing. You won’t be late Ash, and Alice, shut up. You’re at least three times her age.”

    “Ugh, I am not!”

Ashley giggled at Alice. She leaned in a whispered in Dana’s ear.

    “Yes she is.”

Both girls laughed while Alice stood there with her arms crossed pouting.

“Oh baby quit pouting. I’m sorry, but you really never do act your age.”

Dana moved in and tried to place a kiss on Alice’s lips, but missed when Alice turned her head. Dana proceeded to slap Alice’s arm.

“Fine whatever, you’re not getting any tonight.”

    Ashley cleared her throat.

“Ugh still here. And that’s GROSS!”

    Dana ruffled Ashley’s hair.

    “So much to learn.”

    “Uh huh. Whatever.”

Suddenly Ashley heard  Beautiful Liar begin to play.

“Ugh you guys I love this song. We are missing it.”

“Relax Ashley. We are the next to go in.”

Finally the girls were in. Ashley ran to the middle of the dance floor leaving her aunts in the dust. She started dancing by herself when she accidentally bumped into someone. She turned around and started to apologize when she noticed the girl was the most breath taking girl she’d ever seen.

    “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. Ugh…I- “

Just as Spencer was about to rip this girl a new asshole she noticed her apologizing profusely. She placed her hand on her shoulder comforting.

“It’s alright. Don’t worry about it.”

Spencer looked around and noticed that the girl had no one in her company.

“Say, do you want to dance with us?”

    “Uh, sure.”

The girls walked back over to where Tina was dancing.

    “Hey mom, this is…”

    “Ashley.”

Ashley filled in. Tina smiled warmly. She stuck her hand out to Ashley.

“Hi, I’m Tina Kennard, and this is my daughter Spencer Carlin. What’s your name?”

Ashley took Tina’s hand and shook it.

    “Ashley Davies.”

“Well hello Ashley, are you here with anyone else?”

“Uh yah my aunts are around here, but I kind of left them behind so I could catch the end of the last song. I love it.”

“Oh, yah I know what you mean. Lovely song. So maybe we should take our seat, Ashley where are you seated?”

Ashley took out her ticket and looked at it.

    “Uhhh, row 3-seat 24.”

    Spencer pepped up.

“Oh we are row 3- seats 25 and 26.”

    “No shit. I mean really?”

    Ashley blushed.

“So I assume your aunts are in 22, and 23?”

    Ashley nodded her head.

    “Mhm.”

    “What are their names?”

    “Alice and Dana.”

Tina felt her heart drop. She became light headed. She wanted to so much to see her old friends, but wherever they were so was Bette. And she knew she wasn’t ready to go down that path. She needed to know if it was the same Alice and Dana.

“Uh, honey what’s your mom’s and dad’s name?”

“Uh, my mom’s name is Elizabeth or Bette, but I don’t have a dad. I’m adopted.”

“Hey mom, what are the chances that is your Bette?”

Tina’s face had turned shades of white. She felt her stomach becoming nauseous. She felt like she was going to faint.

    “Hey mom are you okay?”

    “ASHLEYYYY!”

Ashley heard her name being called from the distance. Tina looked from the two girls to the distance where the yelling was coming from. Surely enough she made eye contact with Alice and Dana. Her Alice and Dana.

    [back to alice and dana]

“Oh my fucking God, is that Tina?”

“Al, this time I don’t think you are seeing things.”

Suddenly there was a push of wind next to Dana and she was Alice darting off to Tina.

    “TEEEEEEKAAAAAY!”

    1. Oh, the cliffie’s you are leaving us with, you know this chapter really should have been three pages. Thank God for Alice and Dana. Hope Ashley explains that Bette is single. Where did the name difference come from, did Bette let her keep her parents’ name or God forbid, has Bette been married and now divorced? Thanks for posting.
