You Are The Light That Makes My Darkness Disappear – Chapter Six

    Chapter 6

Alice had convince Bette to let Ashley stay the night at her house so they could plot how to get her mother cave. She’d said no the first time, but they were sure she’d give in. She always did. Alice and Ashley walked into the house finding Dana on the couch nursing baby Jack. Alice walked up to Dana and placed a small kiss on her lips.

    “Hey baby.”

Dana smiled. She shifted the baby and pulled on Alice’s shirt slightly to bring her into another kiss. Ashley cleared her throat. Dana smiled at Ashley.

“It’s nice to see you too missy.”

“Hi Aunt Dana. So me and Aunt Alice have to talk to you about something.”

    “Shoot.”

Ashley went and sat down next to Dana. Dana finished breast feeding and handed Jack to Alice who put him in the baby swing.

“Alright so there’s this Paramour concert coming up and I really want to go, and Ayden invited me to go with him, but my mother being the bitch she is won’t let me go alone saying that I am too young. Aunt Alice asked if she could take me, but mom said Alice is too much like a child anyways. Soooooo I had this genius thought that maybe you could convince mom to let us all four go together. You, me, Ayden, and Alice. You being the responsible one in this relationship.”

Ashley used her finger to make a motion between Alice and Dana. Dana turned to Alice then back to Ashley.

“Well, first of all. Don’t call you mother a bitch. She’s not. She’s your mother. I will not have you speaking about her like that. And second of all when is the concert?”

“In three days. It’s at night so it won’t screw up your training in the morning and as far as I’m concerned you can just drop me off and pick me back up.”

“I won’t lie to your mother. If I say I am going to be there with you. I will be there with you. You will be by my side and in my sight. If there is any funny business we are leaving. Is that clear?”

“Jesus your just like mom. I am 16 years old. I think I can handle myself.”

Dana looked at Ashley with a stern look on her face. Ashley turned to Alice who had a look on her face that said ‘don’t push it or this isn’t going to happen!’ Ashley nodded.

“I agree, but you can’t make me look stupid. That’s why I chose you and Alice because Aunt Shane would just be a little to overbearing and embarrass me and Aunt Helena is out of town, and Aunt Kit would make sure that she was rockin’ out in the middle of me and Ayden so nothing would be going on. Even though she has no clue as to what’s really going on.”

    “Have you told them yet?”

“No, it’s just another thing they can say I’m exactly like my mother with. Like mother like daughter.”

“You know Ash your mother is a pretty spectacular woman. I don’t see why it’s a bad thing being compared to her. So what your lesbian. I am, Alice is, Shane is-”

“Aunt Dana I get the point. All the best women in the world are lesbians. And I love them so much, especially my mother, but she just makes me so mad sometimes. Ugh.”

“Honey. My mother made me mad too. She was a Orange County republican, and even after I came out to her she was trying to set me up with a bunch of men. Trust me honey. It could be a lot worse.”

Alice smiled. She put her hands on Dana shoulders and kissed her cheek.

“Is it any wonder why I married this woman.”
