Work In Progress
Jodie woke up in a fit of laughter disrupting her girlfriend’s peaceful slumber. Monique fell asleep with her arm and leg draped across Jodie’s body. The head that rested on Jodie’s shoulder groggily looked at the laughing artist with a furrowed brow.
“I’m sorry honey” Jodie leaned down kissed her sleepy lover on the lips. “Go back to sleep” she whispered against her lips.
“What’s so funny?” Monique whispered back.
“I just had a really fucked up dream” Jodie grinned recalling the dream feeling her giggle fit return. Monique sat up to turn on the lamp on the night stand so they can communicate better.
“What was it about?” Monique was intrigued because she had never heard of anyone waking up in such a manner.
“Do you remember that woman I was telling you about?” Jodie had told Monique about meeting Kelly in Bette’s office.
“Breath-mint Barbie” Monique used the term Jodie had signed at dinner.
“Yeah, the dream was about her and Tina getting into this huge catfight over Bette” Jodie snorted into another fit of giggles as she struggle to read Monique.
“I don’t get it” Monique replied with a yawn as Jodie’s laughed died down again.
“It wasn’t them fighting that had me rolling” Jodie smiled loving at Monique “it was what they were wearing.
In Jodie’s dream:
Dynasty theme music
Kelly was in her gallery giving orders to various members in her staff. She wore a yellowish orange long sleeved blouse with a sash that held the front closed. The collar was obnoxiously huge and too pointed for the blouse. Along with the cantaloupe top she wore black tights with four inch ankle high boots. Her hair do could be best described as if Victoria Beckham decided to get a perm, that do would be end result. She dismissed her staff and with her clipboard in one arm and a flute of champagne in her hand, she walked across the gallery inspecting each piece on display. She heard footsteps behind and was ready to sack the intruding employee.
Tina walked into the gallery and glanced around not feeling moved or in awed by what she saw. It was obvious that when it comes to modern art, Bette is queen. Now Tina’s ensemble took the prize in this room. A pink long sleeved top with the buttons at the back, and if there was a football team that wore pink tops back in the nineteen twenties, Tina was there quarter back based on those shoulder pads. A short black skirt and black stockings covered by black short heeled sandals. Kelly had her back to her but heard the foot steps.
