Although, they both could see the other standing before them and heard each other’s voices for the first time in ten years they both stood face to face. Despite what was going on around them it was like they were in a world of their own. Laughter and conversations, music, the cheering of the crowd, and the ongoing celebration of the success of the gala all noise around them seemed to cease. Physically time had served them well Dana was still gorgeous and athletic and Alice still breathtakingly beautiful. Two women whose history began with a friendship, then turned lovers, and over the course of the last few years had now become complete strangers. There was a more mature vibe amongst them that felt fresh and welcoming. Continuing to stand in awe of one another neither one paid any attention to those around them including their nosy friends that watched from a far curious to see what was to unfold.

“I’m glad to hear that.” As quickly and awkwardly as the conversation began neither one of them knew what to say to the other and so like before they stood in silence continuing to stare at each other.

“Like what oh hey you two I know you haven’t seen or spoken to each other since dirt was discovered but you know it’s time to put on your big girl panties forget the past and move on, “Shane says.
