    Alice – Phew! At least that! Why can’t you come? It will be fun!

    The brunette bites her lower lip.

    Bette – Uh … Tina may call.

    Alice smiles.

    Alice – Wow! You guys are talking?! That’s good, eh? Are you back together?

    Bette purses her lips.

    Bette – No … just as friends.

    Alice – Friends?! Why friends?

    Bette – She wanted it.

    Alice – Huh! Maybe it is better until you guys can be together again, eh? At least you are talking.

    Bette – I guess …

    Bette’s living room, night: Bette is lying on the couch with an empty cup of tea next to her on the coffee table. Tina is lying in bed. They are talking on the phone.

    Tina – And the fall colors have appeared so we can finally get the fall shots we need.

    Bette – Good! You can go north a couple of miles. There are a lot of Aspens there. I’m sure they are turning yellow by now.

    Tina – OK (pause) What time is it?

    Bette – It’s almost eleven for me … midnight for you.

    Tina – Already? We’ve been talking for …

    Bette – Two hours.

    The blonde chuckles.

    Tina – No wonder my ear was starting to hurt.

    Bette – Mine too.

    Tina – I guess I’m going to sleep now. We have scenes early in the morning.

    Bette – OK.

    Tina – I was surprised that you were home … on a Saturday night.

    Bette – I didn’t have any reason to go out.

    Tina – Al didn’t find some crazy party to invite you?

    Bette – There are always crazy parties … I’m not interested.

    A smile appears on Tina’s face.

    Tina – I miss San Francisco …

    She presses her lips together.

    Tina – I miss you …  Can you say the same?

    Bette freezes.

    Bette – I thought you just wanted to be friends.

    Tina – And I can still miss you … as a friend … right? (pause) I miss you …

    The brunette sighs.

    Bette – I miss you too, Tee. I really do …

    The blonde smiles.

    Tina – I miss all the wonderful times we spent together … as friends.

    A flash of mischief appears on her eyes.

    Tina – And everything else that we did together as more than friends … I promise I won’t tell you if I miss it … even if I do …

    Bette closes her eyes.

    Bette – Tee, I …

    Tina – OK … that’s all I wanted to say. Night!

    Bette sighs.

    Bette – Night, Tee …

    Tina – Sweet dreams!

    Bette – Sweet dreams …

    They hang up. Bette smiles wistfully.

    Tina grins. We’ll get there …, she thinks.

    1. Wow first to comment… lol.. i liked it.. i knew they loved each other to much to go through with it..hope Tina still gets her backing from Helena with out strings attached. Bette will come around.. It’s still her first time being in love. She just a little unsure about giving her heart away. But I think its all ready missing..lol..thank you.

      I very glad that they didn’t sleep with another persons. Friends, hmm? I don’t know – it’s better than nothing, but less than i want for them.
      But Tina – you need stop acting like only you been hurt. You telling that you proposed Bette be friends because she broke up with you but c’mon – what choise did you give her? Break without date? What difference between that and break up?

      Wonderful chapter. Yes, I was thinking when reading the former chapters, one can’t move so quickly into someone else arms, especially after so intense feelings. I’m glad that Helena’s plan of making Tina feel forgotten from Bette, didn’t work. I’m glad that Kit was looking after both lovers. I’m glad that Bette is taking her time to wait for Tina.
      I hope they will soon find their way to each other, it can’t be anything else, because the feelings are there.

    5. I love this story! You are really working hard with bringing their relationship back…..now that Tina has some back history on Bette she seems to be slowly working on bringing her around. Love the flirty night conversations! PPS

    8. Friends?! It is a good start for both of them.

      Helena is a desperate bitch by trying to let Tina believe Bette already moved on so that Tina will give in to her. She is a sad person.

      Glad that Kit and Alice talk to them and make them realize how they both feel about each othes point of views.

      Great update, gave my Tibette heart hope for the future!
